I know I'm late to the party but for getting labels off jars and bottles I make a paste of baking soda and vegetable oil. Spread it over the label, let it sit for a while, wipe off the paste (save it to reuse), then peel off the label and just use soapy water to wash off the remaining oily adhesive mix. I usually leave it sitting for hours because ADHD so I'm not sure what the shortest sit time is. Because the baking soda is a gentle abrasive and carrier for the oil you can use it to scrub the adhesive off too.

Oof! Didn't expect an old semi-joke to cause so much angst. It's really just a comment on how often articles talking about how X, Y or Z will impact "The Economy" is mostly about how much money already absurdly wealthy people will gain or lose. Hence replace "The Economy" with "Rich People's Yacht Money" in the headlines to get an arguably more accurate headline. Also I don't think anyone give a shit about upvotes on Lemmy, could be wrong though. As for Florida, I'm not in the US so not super familiar with the climate in various parts of each state but snowfall in Florida seems pretty crazy since I thought Florida is pretty tropical/subtropical. If I have offended you please accept my apology as it was definitely not my intention to offend anyone and especially anyone who is experiencing a natural disaster. I've been through a few cyclones and a bushfire. It's not even slightly fun.
Oh no! Not ~~rich people's yacht money~~ the economy!
Australia checking in.....yeah nah it's happening here too. Shitcunts.
This is me since my mid-twenties. Now 50 and not entirely sure how I'm not a wraith yet.
See Starlight Tours for an insight into friendly Canadian police :/
As a GenX I'd say you're probably not too wrong about many of us but there's still many that are very anti-establishment. If you're unionised check out some of your most militant union folks, chances are they'll be GenX. As for those executive function skills...my super late ADHD diagnosis would like a word if I remember/want to take my meds :/
Yeah I thought letting it sit might be awkward. I make the paste pretty thick and it generally stays in place without slumping on vertical surfaces. Good luck and keep up the good work!
