Your character mumbo jumbo aside, I agree simulation theory could be true but the same as the proposed Äther carrying the electromagnetic field, it is not possible to be proven wrong so it is ultimately useless.

I don't agree that our consciousness can choose what to do. I think it's just an illusion. In that sense your proposal that we steer our experiences by ourself through choosing with which systems to interact, in my opinion, is false. Even if you assume the brain in a vat setup, assuming quantum physics holds in the "real" universe, we just end up with one huge system government by a very complicated wave function

Are you talking about quantum entanglement? What do you mean by intention influencing that?

Why do you think the majority of people would be against a wealth tax? Are the people really buying into the idea that with enough hard work one might one day be a multi millionaire? Feels like Stockholm syndrome driven by propaganda by the rich

Yeah happens to me from time to time. I think it's special treatment by Android OEMs. I think Samsung really likes to kill background apps even if explicitly told not to. see here.

Maybe It's expected behavior if Signal is not being used that often. Still weird WhatsApp never has that problem

I don't hold her opinion, I was just giving a tldr. But I think you misunderstood her take. Of course the state Israel is different from the Jewish religion, but when they are inherently linked to the Jewish religion it makes it easy for people to blame the Israeli crimes not on a state but on a religion. That's what she was talking about. This is breeding ground for antisemites using rhetoric to intertwine the state and the religion to spew hate against Jews. And antisemitism in ones own country is then again a problem that needs to be addressed.

Now I think people really have to try hard to see Israel criticism as antisemitism but there's probably enough discussions about this online that a politician might want to touch the subject carefully (but be spineless at the same time)

She's concerned the criticism of Israel could give antisemites a platform, if the current political scene does not provide a good framing of Israel criticism. I agree it was a politicians answer though

Kind of a bad take. "Windows fits my use case best. But it would be even better if the package management was improved." "Stfu, pick a different OS"

I agree on the downsides, but of course an app is more convenient. You don't have to load a browser and let it download and render everything. Especially when low bandwidth is a concern, a well made app can drastically decrease the amount of transfered data. Also apps are just more responsive.

I would even go so far as to say an open source app does less advertising and tracking than visiting a website of a company.

Don't get me wrong I like an app if it's a choice, but I hate being forced to have an app for every one time thing

Just updated my flake inputs for the first time this year and had to tinker for a bit.

The API for persisting files in the home directory changed, now disallowing the persisting directory to point to a home.persistence."/persistentPath/home/paulemeister/" as it now calculates that path automagically, when using home.persistence."/persistentPath

Also now the hm module is automagically imported through the nixos module. Gotta remove the import in you hm config.

It's really nicely done though with assertions. Just a heads up
