Whoever actually controlled Congress would simply ignore the wishes of the president, and enact their own legislation…and the president would have no power to do anything but veto all of it.

Good! I want that to happen. So all the simps who worship the Democrats can see that the Democrats don't really care about working-class people, and that they are no different than the Republicans.

I already know that, but I want everyone else to find that out. Then people can finally start electing more 3rd parties across the board. Let's do it.

I'm ready for the Democrats to unmask themselves.

Or pick third party. Ya know, if enough people chose third party, then third party would have a bigger shot at winning. How has ignoring the third parties out there worked out so far?

Again, I think it's the media being afraid of the word that is the point. Yes, you're right tho, they are both equally bad, but for some reason the media really hates using the word 'genocide' lately.

I mean, some people can’t buy because they can’t afford them.

Exactly this. I'd love an EV, but I can't afford to buy one and can't afford the required upgrade to my hosue to charge on here.

I think a lot of people on Lemmy forget how much half of the population makes for salary. A lot of Lemmy's claim they got jobs that paid around $85K right out of college. Most of the population has never made that on any job in their life.

I think the point she's trying to make is that mainstream media goes out of their way to avoid the word "genocide" because they don't wanna scare advertisers. But yes, both are bad.

The two-party system is failing us. While Trump escalates nuclear threats against Iran, Democratic leadership refuses to take real action. We’ve seen this cycle before—funding conflict instead of demanding peace.

There is another way. The Green Party takes $0 from the military-industrial complex. We stand for international law and human survival.

Stop the warmongering. Join the movement for humanity. Join the Green Party 🌍🕊️

When surprise bombing raids slaughter civilians by the hundreds, people can't flee, & rescuers can't rescue, it's not ethnic cleansing. It's genocide. Demand Congress halt all funding to Israel. Call your Senators & Rep to Congress. 202-224-2131.

Exactly why I will never reward them with my vote. Unless they pic AOC, cuz I like her.

Agreed. PO management is a mess these days.

Surely it has nothing to do with the system that has all of us boxed into nicely manicured corners.

That's totally the reason for most of the problems. I just refuse to stay in those corners.

And like I said, even if every single person who voted for 3rd party in 2024 voted for Harris, she still would have lost. That’s how big her margin of loss was.

It wasn’t 3rd party voters that destroyed her chances, it was non-voters.

Be mad at them, not me.

From her x account:

Conflating the evils of Zionism with Judaism is exactly what's driving the explosion of antisemitism. US Zionists enable Israel's wars & genocide. They're dragging us into it & destroying the global economy.
It's not antisemitic to condemn genocide/Israel. Get it through your thick skull. Zionism is not Judaism.

Rest easy, you won't be.

So the next step, then, would be to push those candidates into senate / house seats, while protecting the presidency from the candidates who are interested in a fascist takeover

We already do that. And we have 9 candidates running (or actively trying to run) for governor in the 2026 elections.

And I do my part to protect the presidency from bad people, by voting who I want to win. And during the last election it was 3rd party. Proud of my vote then, proud of my vote now.

And I'll gladly vote 3rd party in future elections too. Harris voters and the non-voters not voting for my candidate are why Trump won.

Breaking the Democratic-Republican ‘duopoly’

Throughout the conversation, Ware returned to a central premise: Democrats and Republicans are two wings of the same corporate machine. Citing Malcolm X’s metaphor of the liberal “fox” and conservative “wolf,” he argues that the differences between the parties are “a difference of style, not substance,” particularly on policing, prisons and economic inequality.

“The Democrat establishment in the state turns California citizens and residents upside down and shakes us until all of the money comes out of our pockets,” he said, describing the state’s additions of tolls, fees and regressive revenue schemes.
