Is there any open source app on android that supports rcs?

Yes, you install them through desktop mode then load them into steam as a non steam game. Then they'll show up in game mode. There's also a decky plugin that easily lets you add artwork for the steam entry

I've heard success stories of downloading the android version of signal to create an account, and then the linux desktop version for daily use, then linking the linux version on the android version. Depends on how good of a waydroid setup you can get working, there also seems to be a translation layer in the works that might be worth looking into

Only thing I know of is the lead dev has a mastodon account (dansup) where he's pretty active

Loops is new and still in beta. The dev has said that he wants to wait to open source it until he feels it's current state is ready to be on other people's servers (once it reaches 1.0). I can't say I agree with the thought process but at least with pixelfed he did the same process and actually followed through on federation and open sourcing

Honestly if they can just make their existing app resize properly for a smartphone layout I think the community would be happy to port it

Organic maps is the goat, looking forward to their linux build becoming more stable

Does anyone know of a way to check the upstream status of the SpacemitK/M1 like you can with the jh7110? The former chip is more interesting to me but the latter is almost fully upstreamed

Whether or not it is on gog doesn't really impact how easy it is to pirate. For me it's almost like streaming where the convenience is so high that I'd rather just pay on gog and get the perks that come with that then look elsewhere.

Current nixos user and it seems to me to have stabilized a good bit. I know that the nixos foundation held their first elections for the steering community. Also they recently released their new stable 24.11 version that seemed to go smoothly.

It is not back to where it was in terms of dev trust but there is good progress, and my software still gets updated so I have stuck with it

This is the initial release of their beta, I would've been very surprised if it had upload capabilities

I was wondering if anyone knew any color schemes with a pure black background (#000000)? Every theme I could think of used something lighter colored so I wanted to know if I was missing some.

The motivation is partially I think it would look cool and partially the potential for lower power usage on an oled screen.

Edit: primarily asking for color scheme suggestions for my window manager and terminal, less so how to theme

Hello all, I'm looking to buy 4-8 controllers for some couch coop games and haven't found any clear winners so far. I'm leaning 2.4Ghz as I've heard problems about bluetooth controllers disconnecting on the steam deck and always appreciate less latency. I also don't need any fancy features like gyro or touchpads, just the generic xbox-like style would be great. Also my last problem is that every one I've found requires a dongle per controller, to which I'm wondering if 4-8 dongles next to each other would cause interference?

In essence: if anyone has recommendations on controllers for couch coop games on the steam deck where the main priority is connection stability, it'd be much appreciated!

Hello all, I was hoping to pick up a machine for 1080p gaming on a TV primarily for playing couch party games on emulators (switch, ps3, wii, etc) and was wondering if the deck would be a good fit? I've heard before that there were some problems with docks but not sure if that's been resolved. Any insight is appreciated
