He is the only costumed one in the photo - I am shocked!

l also had Chernobyl in mind at first. It was a big thing, as it affected life as a kid in Europe directly.

But then I remembered all the news stories surrounding the Anti-Pershing protests.
These were in 1983, the year in which humanity perhaps was closest to complete annihilation ever.

Yes, the 80s were wild.

But that's also true for the older ones.

Take the first 3 of the list:

  • Snow White: Stepmother being jealous of the young princess and trying to kill her
  • Cinderella: Again stepmother and stepsisters tormenting the girl - talk about dysfunctional patchwork families...
  • Sleeping Beauty: Perhaps not quite so depressing, but centering around an arranged marriage at birth. Well...

Don't agree, they are much too small for that.
Not that it ever stopped anyone... I vividly remember people trying to get the tiny things out of the toaster using their iron knifes... 🫣

Shoutout to my grandpa, who somehow convinced us children that the ends are the rare gourmet parts of the loaf, so we basically fought each other about who got to eat them. 😆

It seems to be even more complicated than what you described, as I just realized:

Porsche SE is only owning 31.4% of the Volkswagen AG (which in turn owns 75% of Porsche AG), but has 53.3% of the shareholder voting rights.

Financial constructs of huge corporations are strange...

*test*
**another test**

Test successful. Nice.
I just decided to use the classic variants from now on (by adding '\'s), just as in the good old days!

Well, actually it is Porsche who is losing the billion €, as they surrender to their electric competitors and switched back to fossil fuels in a desperate move.
Important detail here, as most people probably don't realize that Porsche belongs to Volkswagen.

That is true. I just installed Lineage OS on my old G84, hope that it will last me a while.
Has probably been the last decent phones to still feature a headphone jack...

Not an option for my gf though, when her G54 broke.
She now rocks a Fairphone 5 and is quite happy with it. And the next broken screen (that will definitely happen...) we can just replace easily now.

Let me introduce you to the Bonobos, one of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.

Phone manufacturers know where you touch your screen the most

Except Apple as it seems. They tend to routinely put essential interactive elements in the top left corner or so, farthest away from my right thumb.

On the other hand, Iphones don't have sneaky ads hidden in the system, so there's that...
