You chew them, like a normal person eats m&ms.

I have added some examples in my english translation. Doctor said the majority preferes sugar-coated, like M&Ms.

If Nestlé hadn’t acquired “Aimmune Palforzia” in 2020, things would certainly have turned out differently.

Here is a rough description of how the therapy worked.
You can find detailed PDFs on this topic by searching for “Palforzia therapy plan.”

Challenge testing at the clinic
At the clinic, tests are conducted using a placebo and “peanut powder in chocolate pudding” to determine how much peanut the child can tolerate. (The emergency kit must always be on hand)

Build-up phase
The first therapy dose of “peanut powder in chocolate pudding” is administered at the clinic; every subsequent increase in the dose level takes place under the supervision of the attending physician. (The emergency kit must always be on hand.) During the 14 days between each increase, the parents mix the peanut powder into chocolate pudding or applesauce daily (no medical supervision required). If an allergic reaction occurs, the emergency kit must be used. One day per week may be skipped.

Dose level / Daily dose / Duration of the dose:

  1. / 3 mg / 2 weeks
  2. / 6 mg / 2 weeks
  3. / 12 mg / 2 weeks
  4. / 20 mg / 2 weeks
  5. / 40 mg / 2 weeks
  6. / 80 mg / 2 weeks
  7. / 120 mg / 2 weeks
  8. / 160 mg / 2 weeks
  9. / 200 mg / 2 weeks
  10. / 240 mg / 2 weeks
  11. / 300 mg / 2 weeks

The maintenance phase follows the build-up phase
Instead of 300 mg of peanut powder, 1–2 sugar-coated peanuts (M&Ms, Nic Nac, or natural without coating) can also be used as the maintenance dose (no medical supervision required)

After 12 months, the final challenge test is conducted at the clinic
There, using a placebo and peanut powder in chocolate pudding, they test how much peanut the child can tolerate.

After the final challenge test, the clinic recommends how many sugar-coated peanuts the child should consume per week to maintain immunity.

It’s unbelievable that they have decided to take such a step backward. Before the therapy, the constant fear of an allergic reaction had dominated daily life (snacks from the school cafeteria, field trips, children’s birthday parties, etc.). Now the only option left is to replicate the therapy on one’s own responsibility, or to have it replicated in collaboration with a reputable clinic.

Palforzia is the only oral immunotherapy (OIT) for food allergy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It treats peanut allergy in children ages 1 through 17. The notice on Stallergenes Greer’s Palforzia website reads: “This voluntary discontinuation is not related to product safety, quality, or efficacy.” Palforzia earned FDA approval in 2020. It was originally developed by Aimmune. Nestle Health Science bought Aimmune and then sold Palforzia to Stallergenes Greer.

Hi. Is this redesign on the roadmap too?
https://lemmy.world/post/43793223

Imho "Full with tiles" + "max lines 7" is the best setting.

[–] MrFloppy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Is it still on the roadmap? Body text yes/no with any of the Layouts would be great.
Or "Full with tiles 2"

Perhaps the most straightforward solution would be to modify "tiles 1-3" so that they also display the content text. And if someone does not want this text, they can select "Full content, max. lines: 0"

I really like “Summit” with the following settings:

  • Dark gray background: Settings > Mode > Background color “Less dark background”
  • Image/text ratio: Settings > Posts feed > Appearance of posts > Basic view “Full content with tiles” + Full content, max lines: 7 (Basic view “Tile 1” would have been good, but then it doesn't display the text of the post...)

Is it possible to get a view similar to the screenshot? With the above setting, I'm already very close, but I would prefer, if all the text is below the image. (And displaying 7 lines of post text only works for me with the setting described above.)

My kid can make 100 push ups, when Nobody's watching.

Would be great to connect to the frontpage of a mastodon site (e.g mastodon.social) via add/choose account. So I have all information of lemmy and mastodon in one App.

For me the title is to big and the rest of the text is too small. Would be great if there wasn't such a large ratio between title and texts.

The same goes for the comments: I don't see much point in the text size being different from the thread text.

It's the same tactic as getting rid of pigeons. You don't destroy the eggs, you make them unusable (plaster eggs). Because destroyed eggs are immediately replaced by the pigeons with functioning eggs.

In my opinion, the best thing to switch between Instances is to use an app:

A "Bird of Prey" with 1500 pieces and legal license, in the blue week for 35 bucks will never be available again. Unfortunately, I found out about it too late.

Hello folks. Is it technically possible to push the Lemmy instance by mirroring content from the public Mastodon start page to individual Lemmy pages? The interface should be able to do that? (Maybe I don't understand the Fediverse again.) If it is possible, is there a guide on how to mirror public Mastodon content to Lemmy? e.g. from this random page https://mstdn.social/explore

Bicycle with roof (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by MrFloppy@lemmy.world to c/bicycles@lemmy.ca

I don't know why roofed bikes and bike-caravans have appealed to me so much for years. They are expensive and take up a lot of space at home. I probably won't buy one. And yet I'm always looking to see what's new in this area.

They would be handy in spring and autumn. So here's my list which velomobiles are available with a roof:

And which may be ready for series production in 2025:

In my opinion, it would be enough for a cargo-bike manufacturer to offer an optional roof like the one built by "Ekki Mobil". (picture in title) A cargo-bike with a box at the front would be ideal. It would also be much cheaper than any of the velomobiles listed above. What do you think about it?

I think it would be nice to exchange what you like to play. Maybe there are games that some people don't know or can recommend to others.

Just write in the comments what fits the thread title.

Here is my list of what we currently like to play in a small group (up to 6 players) with older children (aged 10 and over). The common factor in this group is entertaining games:

  • Crazy Words
  • Just One
  • Double
  • Ligretto
  • Scyjo
  • UNO flip
  • Crack List
  • Wizard

Games to fill a game night:

  • Dog
  • Romme
  • Azul
  • Rummikub
  • Tabu XXL

Emotions game (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by MrFloppy@lemmy.world to c/boardgames@lemmy.world

I once borrowed an emotions game from a friend that she used in her kindergarten. In my opinion, this kind of game is a great way to playfully find out what is bothering a child of kindergarten age.

Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere else what it's called, so I've put together a clone for you from similar templates and my memory.

After a long time, I tried Splatoon again via the Pretendo user. (easy setting - no Homebrew) It worked great, without any problems and ¿because it was Sunday? a group always formed quickly.
