The EU started negotiations for a free trade agreement in 2015 during Obama, then the orange threw the proposal out in 2016. Now in 2025 he imposed the tariffs, then announced he'd be willing to negotiate new trade terms and the EU opened the drawer and got out that proposal from 10 years ago.

Basically what the EU always wanted in the first place.

High pitch noise like from hard drives, typically in the 5 to 15k hz frequencies generally can be dampened quite a bit with pretty simple solutions like accoustic foam. Since it's probably not that loud you won't need much material to achieve a bit of reduction. Only thing I'd worry about is temperature management, keep an eye on it. Afaik there are also special desktop PC cases that are insulated, for like sound studios and such.

With low frequencies, where it is hard to locate the source of the sound anyways, it works well, even without carefully arranging the distances, higher frequencies get trickier and you'll likely get good cancellation in some places and a terrible mushy noise in others.

That's not entirely true, cancelling sound waves can also be done on a large scale. I've seen it on festivals or other open air venues, where they stack two rows of subwoofers behind each other in a precisely calculated distance to cancel out the bass notes towards the back of the stage, meaning walking in front of the subs you could hear it normally, walking behind them and the bass notes where very faint and clearly coming as a bounce back from walls or the like. So they effectively cancelled out the frequencies towards the back.

But that doesn't help OP since that works way better on lower frequencies, with higher notes you'll need the precise localization you're talking about. So the high pitched noises from a hard drive probably won't work.

He has been accused of desecrating a South Korean monument to women subjected to sexual slavery in World War II.

Holy fuck, that's dark.

I don't know about European manufactured, but the kind of socks your describing - normal black socks, without a seam - in Germany are called "Kellner socken" - waiter socks. Light, seamless, comfy usually black tie socks, not too expensive.

So now he thinks he can make demands extraterritoriality

To quote the grandmother of a friend: "Wish into one hand and shit into the other, see which one is filled first"

Very witty response! Impressive argumentative engagement, I'll have to ponder that further.

The first paragraph of the OP maybe had some good intentions, but the edit is just spiteful and ignorant.

Edit: so are their responses

European red squirrel, northern Germany.

We live right next to a park, where a tree grows partially over our balcony, so the little one can safely come and go. Over the past weeks she's gotten more curious and has been exploring every corner of the balcony, she's also gotten more comfortable with our presence.

A few days ago we were having tea outside and she joined us briefly, so we put out some hazelnuts and she returned immediately from her lookout on the tree.

First she checked from a safe distance.

She then brought the nuts into several hiding spots around and returned again, at this point she really started to muster us. She then made a big jump right on to our table, ran across it until she sat 30cm in front of my girlfriend and stared right into the camera, that's where we took the title picture.

The photo is slightly out of focus because she ran up to us so boldly, we couldn't turn the zoom down quickly enough.

After that photo we put the camera down, to enjoy the moment more, she ran around us a little bit and then retreated back to her tree.

It seems like we made a friend that day, she comes by periodically, we bought more nuts and although she is careful around us, she accepts our presence. We can move slowly and also talk normally, just fast movements makes her a little skittish.

So greetings from Hazel to all of you, we wish you and your squirrel friends a merry autumn!
