I feel there is no viable option, but I have seen people around me gaining interest in the PSL. I haven’t looked too deeply into them, but I know they’re one of the more visible socialist parties in the U.S. I want to understand their platform, their approach to organizing, and how they differ from other leftist groups.

What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses? Are they genuinely building a movement, or are they more of a sectarian group? I’d love to hear from people who have experience with them, whether as members or as outsiders observing their work.

I don’t know where else to ask this but I am out. My Latina fiancee has been getting derogatory remarks in public. I’m done. We are both hard-working manufacturers and we are looking at Spain since she is already fluent in Spanish and I am actively learning.

I am contemplating moving to a country that offers a more peaceful and productive environment. The ongoing challenges and distractions in my current area, such as crime and the high costs associated with education, are motivating this decision. I am looking for a place where I can flourish in a tranquil setting. Could someone offer advice on where others with similar circumstances have successfully relocated? Additionally, I would appreciate any recommendations for areas that are recognized for offering affordable educational opportunities and a high quality of life. I don’t want to live here anymore.

I'm temporarily taking a break from political activism, and it is tiring seeing everything right now. I have been politically active for 5 years now, and I desperately need a break. Voyager for Lemmy, at least for me, pushes political content like crazy.

In light of the recent election, it’s clear that the Democratic Party needs a significant leftward shift to better address the needs and concerns of the American people. The party’s centrist approach is increasingly out of touch, limiting its ability to appeal to a broader base and especially to young voters, who are looking for bold and transformative policies. The fact that young men became a substantial part of the conservative voting bloc should be a wake-up call—it’s essential that the Democratic Party broadens its appeal by offering real solutions that resonate with this demographic.

Furthermore, one major missed opportunity was the decision to forgo primaries, which could have brought new energy and ideas to the ticket. Joe Biden’s choice to run for a second term, despite earlier implications of a one-term presidency, may have ultimately contributed to the loss by undermining trust in his promises. Had the party explored alternative candidates in a primary process, the outcome could have been vastly different. It is now imperative for the Working Families Party and the Progressive Caucus to push for a stronger, unapologetically progressive agenda within the Democratic Party. The time for centrist compromises has passed, as evidenced by setbacks dating back to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss, the persistently low approval ratings for Biden since 2022, and Kamala Harris’s recent campaign, which left many progressives feeling alienated. To regain momentum and genuinely connect with the electorate, a clear departure from moderate politics is essential.
