I don't think they were going to, since Hexbear doesn't actually have downvotes. Only upvotes. And the post above apparently cuts out the part where they're told to follow the rules.

If they wanted to misbehave they could do it already. I've personally had posts and comments mass downvoted and people have complained elsewhere. The only thing this defederation will contribute to is an increase in alt accounts and the very misbehaviour you fear. This is a Lemmy problem, not a Hexbear one.

An instance can behave like a sub or community if they wish to, assuming what you said is even true. Iirc the entire point of the fediverse is to allow groups of users to be free from spez like ban-happy/profiteering behaviour. Lemmy doesn't exist to make you personally happy. Hexbear has its own rules for its own instance and if their community is happy with it it'll survive and thrive.

Lemmy dot world's decision is disappointing because they seemed open and neutral politically. But are seemingly very much not neutral and damaging for Lemmy.

It took me an awfully long time to realise that Legolas was played by Orlando Bloom, that Bloom was the name of that guy from Pirates of the Caribbean, and that that guy and Legolas were the same. In my defence I was around toddler age when the LotR films came out. It must have been a great time having LotR and Harry Potter plus other fantasy being put out.

Title text: No, we actually do have a woman who's basically part of our fellowship. She lives in Rivendell, you wouldn't know her.

I saw this other guy asking how you'd download protected drive only view documents. So that reminded me of that other annoying characteristic of PDFs. They're 'protected'.

How do you deal with PDFs that are inherently uncustomisable and have fixed formatting? I appreciate the KO Reader and other readers can do reflowable text, but I'd prefer not to and epubs/txt/any customisable format would be better.

Any good methods of PDF to text/epub out there?

Is there any way to contact admins here?

I want to report a bot/troll here for you to purge him. He's messaged a gif of a woman shitting to me. No doubt he's done this to others too.

This is a fan made audiobook and is as described. The immersive soundscape experience involves background sounds, chatter, music and more. It's genuinely a great peice of work especially for an enthusiast's effort. It may be removed by youtube soon, so here is an alternative link: https://castbox.fm/channel/Harry-Potter-|-Immersive-Soundscape-id5488497

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined is a young adult vampire-romance novel by Stephenie Meyer. The story is a gender-swapped retelling of the first book in the Twilight series, and introduces Beau Swan and Edythe Cullen in place of Bella and Edward.

Torrent link is in base64.

I'm posting here because I was surprised that these older audiobooks are available to stream. Of course, only people with the library can access them. But they must have already been part of the physical CD catalogue. I'm assuming they're on CDs because they're old and sound quality is definitely not modern.

So perhaps staff uploaded them to their cloud service.

It should behave as a viable and threatening adversary for reddit. As long as reddit carries on doing as it does and lemmy's communities carry on building, we're winning by blocking Reddit's monopoly on mainstream forum-type social media.
