The rapper is Del the Funky Homosapien. Involved in lots of other rap groups of the era as well as the previous era. I still remember this song every once in awhile and get it stuck in my head.

My ex wife was bulemic; we went to support groups together over it, sometimes.

The usage of laxatives and finger down the throat are classic signs of bulimia. Body dysmorphia very frequently goes hand-in-hand with those behaviors, as does having to hide these behaviors.

Fortunately, it sounds like you may be able to have a good support system that can help you keep this from going too far. There’s an opportunity here.

Take this on if you could: losing weight these ways actually ends up being a lot of work, with a terrible trade-off. You may lose weight, but at an even higher cost to your physical and mental health. It’s work to hide it from your friends and family, work obsessing over your food intake, and work mentally rationalizing everything. Then, you’ll have to deal with all of the negative health effects, and there actually are a lot. Consider taking that amount of work you’re willing to do and put the efforts toward more healthy ways of dealing with what you see when you look in the mirror. You can lose weight healthy ways, but you can do it while learning to love yourself, as well. It IS possible. I highly encourage getting some therapy—somebody to talk to about these things, and find what’s really down at the core of these feelings you have.

When you start a new job at a big company, you feel really incompetent and self-conscious because everybody else has been there so much longer, yet little old you know nothing about how any of it works or what’s going on.

But then you go walking around talking to people, and you realize nobody actually knows what the hell is going on, and they just pretend they do.

It’s kinda like that.

But sometimes you meet some really competent and knowledgeable people who seem to have a better grasp and perspective on things. It’s good to not just listen to these people, but to bounce questions off of them. They don’t judge, because they know.

I’m always reminded of the scene in Alice in Wonderland where the talking flowers explain to her that they can talk because they’re planted in firm soil, while those planted in soft soil are asleep all the time.

If it was any other name at the bottom of that quote I would’ve doubted.

Was using Voyager, but it crashed a lot and didn’t support the iOS native photo features, like pressing on text in an image and being able to translate it.

I switched to Arctic. Crashes way less often than Voyager did, at least for me.

Depends on whether it’s a consumer-level product or one marketed to big business. This goes for other brands, as well. For example, I have a color HP laser printer that I love. It’s a whole different type of product than their absolute crap consumer inkjet products.

Alternatively, a lot of people forget about their little experimental album where they basically remixed a lot of their songs and upped the “electronic” factor a bit. Here’s that version of that song.

Fucked up. The cops actually repeatedly called the nurse to check this guy, and she repeatedly decided not to do anything. Including leaving for the night at a point when he was no longer breathing. Who are these nurses they have employed in the jail?

We found out I had an unknown half-brother because my grandpa decided to do one of these. My grandpa was trying to see how much of his Native American ancestry would come up. He is, supposedly, half Wyandot. It showed 0% Native American ancestry. Make of that what you will.

And yes, they’ll absolutely end up selling your data at some point.

I happened to go to school in a public school district that had both middle-class and upper-class families. My neighborhood was lower-middle-class to middle-class, so my neighborhood was dubbed “the hood.” The school district, likely due to donations and a good stream of funds from property taxes was just as good or even better in some eyes than going to a private school. Some of the rich families preferred their children going to the public school, as long as it was good, for the character. I grew up with this mix of friends.

Later in life, I’ve had jobs which cater to who these richer kids became as adults. CEOs and other execs of multi-billion dollar organizations and the like. Perhaps I’m good at it because of the exposure and how I’m not intimidated by them. Depending on the person, they sometimes appreciate being treated like a normal human being for a change.

In a nutshell, there’s new money and old money. As children, the new money kids were more normal, but a hell of a lot more fun. The old money, quite boring. Mainly because they were all the fucking same. Same hair, same clothes, same interests. They tended to be more elitist and lacking in empathy. Big surprise?

That somewhat translates to the adult versions. Old money rich people are incredibly boring. You see, rich people don’t have the same struggles as normal people have. Think of it this way: Imagine that money was like water out of the tap. You want some more for now? Just turn on the tap. Of course, it would be concerning if for some reason the tap didn’t work or that the water didn’t flow, but if it’s been so reliable your entire life, it’s not one of your major concerns. New money people also have that same tap, but may come from a family or background where things didn’t always work that way. The tap is still seen as this awesome achievement.

I’ve only gotten to know the richest people as an adult on a very superficial level. From what I’ve gathered, there are some that are perfectly fine with their boring lives, but only because they’ve found some line of work that they like. Those that haven’t tend to have secret vices and debauchery at a level a poorer person could never get away with.

They live in a completely different world. Imagine if the world you lived in conditioned you in a way in which you could only identify with other rich people. I suspect they are quite lonely. Boo hoo, right? Those of us who aren’t rich but are also lonely for other reasons have such ire for these people. But such is the way of things.

I’ll refrain from making more generalizations than that, as we’re talking about human beings. Everybody is different. There are exceptions to every rule. Some rich kids go on to become wonderful, dynamic people that happen to have the freedom to affect change in the world. Some grow up to become complete leeches on society. Just as you’d expect.

The biggest takeaway: Usually, not always, they’re actually pretty boring compared to normal people. The crazy stories you hear are actually the minority.

I sold my hot tub 😢. We ended up just decoupling this conduit and cutting the line. I’d like some advice on the best way to simply cap these off in a way that doesn’t become a problem later when I move out.

Not an electrician, just hoping somebody is nice enough to help out.

The electrician who installed it basically “stole” the connection that goes to the garage to install this. I’m still not exactly sure what he did behind that box, but I think I’ll have to figure that one out later.

Any help appreciated!

Captured this guy doing some sort of low-flying surveying. The way they were flying around erratically and extremely low got me curious. Looked up the aircraft: the leasing company photos didn’t show this device.
