Breakout had tennis players in the artwork, but Super Breakout is in space? ๐Ÿคท

Sounds like the artist was going for depicting the color bars as a forcefield to give them physicality, and also liked the visual of them being reflected in the astronaut's helmet.

Very excited to have Super Breakout. Growing up we had the first Breakout, but I only ever hear people talk about this sequel nowadays. Now I'll get to see what the hype is about! Space Jockey is cool too, but I'm awful at it ๐Ÿ˜…

These specific Virtual Boy carts aren't being made any more, unfortunately. You can still find them for insane prices on eBay though.

At the time, I think these were the only ones that did something like this. Now, if you Google around I believe you can find a couple other projects out there for other systems that have some sort of display built into the cartridge so it can display a game label. Not sure how many are finished products you can buy, or how many are open source projects that you would need to DIY.

Yes, it happened within an hour of them landing on NSO ๐Ÿ‘

Virtual Boy was cartridge based, these flash carts are cool because they have e-ink displays in them so that you can load custom label images to see what game you have flashed.

This is what an original cart looks like

I'm not sure what you're asking, but yes - these are Virtual Boy games (loaded on a couple of flash carts)

Dragon Hopper is every bit as good as I always imagined it would be, and Zero Racers is great to have too!

You should look up this book!

Pleasantly surprised by Chopper Command, I will definitely putting in some time on that one.

Something I forgot to mention, you can "fix" the speed in the Super Game Boy FPGA core by going into the core's settings.

The main Analogue Pocket FPGA core(s) for playing Game Boy cartridges doesn't recognize these Wisdom Tree carts as legit carts, as far as the system behaves - there's nothing in the slot.

There is an openFPGA core for the Super Game Boy, though, that will read original Game Boy games from the cart slot, and I've found that I can play Wisdom Tree carts if I use that openFPGA core.

But also... Yes - the AP can be a FPGA SNES that can read roms from the sdcard, and is also a lot of other systems by using openFPGA cores. Combined with the dock and some wireless controllers, it's a less powerful mister system - but a portable one!

I had the King James Bible and Joshua carts as a kid (and still do), but I never realized just how many games Wisdom Tree released on the Game Boy!

It sure is ๐Ÿ‘

I had a couple Wisdom Tree Game Boy games as a kid, never knew there was a port of Spiritual Warfare until recently. Excited to find a copy for a not ridiculous asking price!

It's a fantastic device!

I'm going to need to look up a game manual for this one, no idea what I'm doing or how to use half of the items I'm finding.

Thanks for all the Lynx game suggestions in my previous post - I'm on the hunt!

Very happy mail call today

Never played Lynx before, just purchased my first two games. Excited to try them out! Any specific games that I should hunt for moving forward?

Excited to get into Ax Battler - seems like it'll be a good time! Need to look up the manual to Crash Dummies, I have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing to clear a stage...

Aliexpress find, really weird cart but it works! Gotta love the dip switches

Love finding awesome games for old systems that I had no idea existed, my kid and I are going to have a blast with this one!
