I wonder if there would be enough data on archive.org to rebuild your community?

you can probably find a mirror of the community on one of the big Lemmy instances

account portability is a big topic in 'verse developer circles

I think community portability is a way bigger deal, at least here

I think if communities could have aliases/mirrors, that would mostly fix the problem without completely rewriting all of the ActivityPub spec?

edit: I did find this issue on their Github https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3100

and: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4619

Lots of people don't like those communities that are filled with bot posts. A lot of people even disable viewing of bot posts. Most of those bot posts have 0 comments.

I just don't think they're a good example to support your case.

Yeah you'll need an account. Once you have an account the easiest way to edit is to click the pencil icon at the top right of the file in the website. You can edit in the web browser and then submit a pull request from there automatically.

Can anyone link some examples?

They may as well just use phpbb at this point.

idk I think even with federation fully disabled, Lemmy is still better than phpbb

Recompilations and reverse engineered games are actually not emulation, they're ports. But yeah they're amazing and almost always the best way to play a game when available. See !source_ports@lemmy.sdf.org and !opensourcegames@lemmy.ml

Sure. You can fix frame rate drops, play with any controller you want, easier to play with mods, save states, speedup when replaying a game, easier to record video or stream. If you're playing a 3d game you can run in higher resolution with better anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering. For a 2d game sometimes one of the upscaling filters will look good. You can use CRT filter if you want and you don't have a CRT TV. You could do it on Steam Deck and cloud sync your saves with your PC, and even your phone (especially for turn based games)

0.19.4 is annoying since it adds the hashtag additions where posts are auto hashtagged with the community name. I was aiming to Ideally remove that from the codebase before we upgrade but we might have to upgrade with that in it

is the feature that bad? I haven't heard complaints about it, seems cool to me
