Jerboa sorely lacks the absolute basic feature of searching for keywords in posts. It only supports searching for community names. I can't think of any other Lemmy app that does NOT support general search.

I came to know that there is an issue open in Github for over 3 years now, but no clue as to whether it is been worked on.

Totally respecting the personal times of the volunteer developers who are making Jerboa an awesome app - at the same time the lack of this basic feature stops me from calling Jerboa my favorite.

I called a local repair shop, where a friendly man informed me that the printer probably needed only to be cleaned. Because the store charged $50 for such cleanings, he told me I might be better off reading the printer’s manual and trying the job myself.

Pleasantly surprised by his honesty, I asked, “Does your boss know that you discourage business?”

“It’s my boss’s idea,” the employee replied sheepishly. “We usually make more money on repairs if we let people try to fix things themselves first.”

সেই ২০২১ জানুয়ারির ঝামেলাটার পরে আমিই ওকে ফোন করে বলেছিলাম - দেখ, তোমার হাতে পার্টির কয়েক হাজার ক্যাডার আছে মানেই যে তাদের লেলিয়ে দিতে হবে এমন কোন কথা নেই। এই তো আমিও কতবার গলায় রক্ত তুলে বলে এসেছি যে ছিপিএম সায়েন্টিফিক রিগিং করেছে, বুথ দখল করেছে, পোলিং এজেন্ট ঠেঙিয়েছে, তাই বলে কি আমি বিধানসভার বাইরে আমার দলীয় কর্মীদের লাঠিসোঁটা রামদা হাতে দিয়ে ছেড়ে এসেছি ? মামাটি গরমেন্ট হল সহিষ্ণুতার গরমেন্ট। কথায় কথায় দাঙ্গা শুরু করে দিলে কি করে চলবে ? মারকাটারি মনোবৃত্তিটা শুধু ধরে রাখতে হবে। নইলে কি আর কুণাল ববি এরা আমার জন্য গুলির সামনে বুক পেতে দেবার জন্য মুখিয়ে নেই ?

গুলি বলতে মনে পড়ল, ওই যে ছেলেটাকে ওদের পুলিশ ছাদে উঠে মারল, ওর কোন বন্ধুবান্ধব যদি থাকে যার বন্দুকের টিপ একই রকম মারাত্মক, বলে বলে ঠিক আমার কানের পাশ দিয়ে চালাতে পারবে - তাহলে আমাকে জানিও তো। ২০২৬-র বিধানসভা প্রচারে বেরিয়ে হালকা রক্তপাত ভালোই সিমপ্যাথি ভোট আনবে। শুধু হুইলচেয়ার আর পায়ে প্লাস্টার দিয়ে হচ্ছে না।

ওর বউ মালিনীকেও বললাম একটু খাওয়াদাওয়া করতে, কিরকম রোগাপানা হয়ে যাচ্ছে দিন দিন। মডেল ছিল তো কি হয়েছে, এখন তো তিন বাচ্চার মা, তার ওপর ফার্স্ট লেডি। দেখতে শুনতে খারাপ হলে চলবে কি করে ?

আমি তো ঠিক করেছি পরের বার বিশ্ব বাংলা সম্মেলনে ওনাদের ডাকব বিনিয়োগ করতে। ওদের ওই সোনার কমোড গুলো ধনতেরাসে চলবে ভাল।"
