I don't think the official one is gonna be bad by any means. They will probably fix the biggest flaws with hindsight and modernize the graphics, and it will be a big improvement over the original if everything goes right.

But ultimately they had deadlines to meet and many more games in the pipeline, whilst the Skyblivion team can work on everything for as long as it takes, experiment much more and put as much detail and soul into everything as they want. I think that will make a difference, but both will be good games.

Offering at least one option that don't include factory farmed food, that caused a lot of animal suffering in it's production, should be the bare minimum.

"When I specifically go to a restaurant run by animal lovers and I can't even get any dead animals from them, you shouldn't be able to get food that didn't harm animals in any restaurant!"

Wow. I guess there really are people who want to make it even harder to avoid causing cruelty, for no reason... Just why?

Skyblivion (the fan remake) will probably have much more attention to detail and will also release this year, after over 10 years of development. The dev log videos look amazing. I'd be very surprised if the official remake is as good.

If you're browsing on mobile, I can recommend the app Voyager for Lemmy or Thunder for Lemmy. I liked their layout the best from the few I tried.

I wonder if they were just too blinded by greed to act rationally or were under the impression that they can control Trump enough to keep the economy afloat.

We also got Russia and the US weaponizing social media to support far-right parties. The EU needs to get their shit together.

The climate impact of the poorest is nothing compared to the pollution of rich countries anyways and the same is true for factory farming. The money will likely be used for much more environmentally destructive things now instead. There's nothing positive in this from any progressive perspective.

I can imagine which kind of gun enthusiasts will form militias then, and what kind of values they will enforce... Certainly not equality and the rule of law. Many would probably hunt or terrorize immigrants and LGBT+ folks for leisure, for example.

Sure, police culture and accountability are broken in many places (especially in the US), but just getting rid of them while leaving a power vacuum for any nut jobs with power fantasies to fill, with literally 0 accountability, would be even more of an absolute nightmare for minorities.

And when it's the only way to keep their family from starving, for example, people will consent in droves, securing supply.

I feel like if a child with a similar level of cognition as the cow harms other children, most people will say they have no moral agency yet, and will still see harvesting their leather as immoral.

There are two ways to resolve that inconsistency...
