Why would I need to give you a list to point out what is wrong with your statement.

They're obvious though.

  • Copyright issues with the sale of ai services

  • Worker displacement without proper social systems to manage them

  • Unclear biases within black box systems

  • The requirement to change education based on their existence

  • The environmental damage caused through the energy used in training.

The list is long quite frankly. Longer than this even.

Really wish donald stuck to this method of defeating the democrats.

Ah look, another big toxic comment not even passive aggressively hurling insults.

Not even worth the time to read it all. Apparently your "You do you, but I’m all done." was indeed an obvious lie. (Double downvoting me with an alt is hillarious shit too)

There is at least one Robo vac that does not rely on the cloud, and personally I can't imagine feeling comfortable with a robovac being cloud connected for no reason.

Is the fact that SteamOS is based on Arch going to change this such that prior Arch users must now suffer through Gentoo or will they stay the same, considering the proprietary inclusions of SteamOS to be enough to exclude it from the fold?

What a weird bout of projection. Your weaponized civility was not well camoflauged at all. It was right out there in the open, especially given you started with "I’m not going to inflict you on them"

You baited out a comment with effort just to put out a comment with no effort accusing me of what you're doing when literally all of your queries were answered. Troll behaviour.

Drugs can at least be fun?

This is well said. So many people don't get that of course these companies know you hate this shit.

They're just trying to boost their stock value and violate your privacy harder.

I’m not going to inflict you on them just to make a point, know what I mean?

That seems weirdly hostile

if you’re curious, you’ll find em;

Groups looking to take action should be trying to be seen, not acting like a secret society. This alone means they're almost certainly failing in their duties, if they exist at all.

where are you finding these “real activist groups”?

Reddit often has location specific subreddits. Often times a cities subreddit for instance might organize a protest, rally, transport for voting, etc.

I really can’t understand any defence of modern Reddit whatsoever (assuming you’re defending modern Reddit, you didn’t indicate otherwise).

What a crazy logical leap this whole bit is. "You didn't say something completely unrelated so therefore you must have opinion I made up".

There is obviously a lot wrong with modern reddit, but that's about management and ownership of the site, and therefore the enshitification and control.

What I was discussing is the people using said site. Two obviously separate concepts.

are you talking about subreddits that have managed to fly under the radar or something?

Not every bit of positive action is so brazen and offensive that it would violate TOS.

completely agree that we got a whoooole lotta thoughtless meme’ing here. Pretty much comes with the territory though…

The signal to noise ratio is veeeery low here though. There are also a shit ton of weirdly pro russia/pro CCP noise with people who seem to trying to be impossible to talk to on purpose for some reason. Like they aren't trying to actually effectively convince anyone of anything, just circle jerk in a weird cult like atmosphere where they just vaguely bust out stalinisms.

That is a crazy amount of nonsensical word salad to use to try to call someone else out for lacking understanding.

I mean just the flawed idea that all trading algos are all neural nets, or that all neural nets are the same or that the rectangle of ML doesn't include neural nets.. These are all wildly erratic non sequiturs.

It’s all bullshit, and the point is to be exceedingly difficult to talk to.

Holy shit does this make a lot of sense.

This so explains why people who at first glance appear to be reasonable/somewhat aligned, start spouting off some vague nonsense about how you should have done the mandatory readings of this and that manifest to understand what you clearly are missing.

I've been racking my brain but it just being angsty alt people who thrive on being in that outcast group, so they can feel they've discovered some powerful secrets other people just don't get.

That said, this community has suspiciously strict rules too, so its kinda seeming like lemmy is only better than reddit in that it hasn't been around long enough to be enshittified and that there will probably always exist at least some sane instances.

No, it’s pretty much the opposite. As it stands, one of the biggest problems with ‘AI’ is when people perceive it as an entity saying something that has meaning.

This has to be the least informed take I have seen on anything ever. It literally dismisses all the most important issues with AI and pretends that the "real" problem (as if there is only one that matters) is about people misunderstanding it in a way I see no one doing.

It's clear to me you must be so deep into an anti AI bubble you have no idea how people who use AI think about it, how its used, why its used, or what the problems with it are.

Link to official blog post (somehow still blames people for correctly understanding their first statements)

Of Note:

  • No dates were specified, No commitments made.

  • Day 1 game support was not promised, just individual game support.

  • They still plan on splitting the development for RDNA1 and RDNA2 from RDNA3 and RDNA4 development, giving only the latter support for new features.

Edit:

I am looking for games that are visually impressive and make use of my 5090 so I can get more use out of it before it becomes second place (though I guess technically its second place to the RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell).

I have already played Cyberpunk 2077, played the heck out of it, very fun, though it has some annoyances so on subsequent playthroughs mods removed those annoyances for me which was great. This game really had a lovely skill tree customization which let you have many different play styles and the free form missions were excellent for letting you complete them in all sorts of ways.

I have also played Atomfall and just have the new DLC left to play through. Its not really that graphically challenging. It was an OK game.

I have also played Split Fiction, which is probably the absolute most fun anyone can have with another person in video game form, especially if one is used to games and the other isnt, but in other cases as well. Very relaxing and high fun to down time ratio.

Played both Robocop games as well. Ok, but not that graphically challenging.

Sort of the big thing I want to avoid is MTXs and marketing dark patterns like FOMO and especially Monetary Dark Patterns. Basically things listed on this website are things I want to avoid

For the record I play on a 4k 144hz monitor and prefer higher frame rates, like 100 ish for comfortable play without eye strain.
