My understanding is that when the americans institute their tariffs, all canadian products become more expensive for americans and not price competitive with local american products. This results in a decrease of purchasing from Canada.

If we do nothing, then Canadians are still buying just as much american as before and there are little to no consequences for the tariffs

With tariffs on both sides, the effect is roughly "equalized" in that we are both now buying more local goods and less trade over the border

But those same judges have also showed in the last year or two that precedence means very little to them if it gets in the way of something they (or their patrons) want

Isn't it? On a cell phone it demands that I drop what I'm doing at a moment's notice and respond to your inquiry. Unless it is something time-sensitive, the call probably should have been scheduled or a text message would have served the purpose without demanding an instant response

Unless you're pretty advanced in your field, it can be pretty difficult to find a job that is willing to give you work hours on your terms like that.

My coworkers do this when any program takes longer than 1 second. Frequently spam clicking on a button that does something, so they end up with 14 copies of whatever they were trying to print or the program opening 14 times
