You’re asking me if it’s better that there are ~14 million less Nazis in the US than you thought?

That is also an oversimplification, because you’re assuming that all 36% of the people who didn’t vote had the option to vote. We are the most imprisoned population on earth, with some states (including one of the 2024 swing states) removing voting rights from people convicted of felonies.

That’s not even going into things like people working in jobs that have no problem violating the law and refusing to let them take time off to vote, people being illegitimately denied the vote at the polls over ID issues, long poll lines that mean some people wind up unable to vote for unavoidable reasons (childcare, disability, etc), 14 states don’t allow no-excuse voting by mail, I can keep going on with all the problems people run into while voting in the US if you want.

Obviously that’s not all of that 36%, but you are living in a dream world if you think every American citizen that wanted to vote got to.

Social Security is a federal program. It going under will not only affect boomers in Oklahoma, and the 65+ demographic voted for Trump at the same rate as 18-29s (51%).

Age is not a determiner of morality, and gathering to point and laugh while the elderly and disabled die due to eliminating government safety nets sure fits in with the Nazi zeitgeist, but probably not the way y’all want it to.

So they’re not suffering from social security collapsing, the topic of this post?? I didn’t think that needed clarifying

Let’s not rewrite history, this is Trump’s first win through the popular vote. The American people chose Clinton the first time around, the electoral system set up to appease slavers 200+ years ago is what put him in power in 2016.

They fucking deflated him 😭

This is a really weird comment to make about someone’s dead relatives.

I think the largest US plane crash in the past 20+ years having happened within the past 3 months might have something to do with the increased reporting, not politics.

Glad my parents and grandparents are all dead already. Real normal thoughts to be having.

I don’t see user icons on Voyager ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They probably had you hold your fingers up to a small scanner if you turned 18 in the past 20ish years, not ink and paper fingerprinted you.

This isn’t feminism, this is an attempt at making gender roles cute and palatable. A feminist would likely tell any woman who feels she’s responsible for her husband like she is for a child to get a divorce, because that’s not an equal partnership.

Losing a home in a wildfire is devastating and navigating the insurance process can feel overwhelming. In this workshop, the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles will help homeowners and renters affected by the Palisades and Eaton Fires better understand their insurance policies, rights, and options for recovery. The workshop will also discuss steps to document losses and file a claim, what to do if you are denied coverage or underpaid, and additional financial and legal resources for fire-affected families.

The stream starts at 12 pm PST.

My first attempt doesn’t look as nice, since I was trying to sew down the last loops of the warp one at a time instead of taking them all off the hooks at once and then sewing them down.

I think this one turned out alright, though! I just used some variegated craft thread that looked about the same size as pearl thread, but was cheaper and came in a variety pack.

Trans Rights are under assault all across the United States as the new administration continues a brutal project of oppression, exclusion, and denial of care to people everywhere.

Distribute Aid is developing a network of supply chains, medical aid, distribution partners and kit development across 11 states that aims to provide direct care and medical support to thousands of trans people, with the goal of scaling up to cover the rest of the country during 2025.

100% of the proceeds of this bundle go directly toward Distribute Aid's efforts to supply kits of 1 year's necessary medical equipment into the hands of trans people in needs for free.

Each kit comes with a sharps container and enough syringes, needles, bandages, and alcohol wipes to last a year. For people living in states where it’s difficult to access syringes and needles, this will help reduce needle reusing and sharing.

If you aren’t interested in the games and prefer to donate to the campaign directly, you can do that here.
