Awesome, follow us on everything that is the farthest away from open source and definitely don't find us on the open source platforms

E.g Osmand, organicmaps, magic earth. Magic earth is as far as I know the only one supporting real time traffic (and hence route optimization upon traffic incidents)

Yes I hear this all the time. So what you are saying is that 1)people in Europe don't have jobs and 2)the population density in us is low. Regarding 2) yes it is lower in the US however Washington dc and surrounding area (maybe 2h drive by car or so) have several million inhabitants. Let's assume 5, if only 1% of them are going we would be talking about at least 50.000 people joining a protest. I don't have seen any reports about that, are those just not reported?

Sorry but there are like 100 people at each protest. There should be a million marching through Washington... What are we talking about here

For any German, correctiv should be a must go to...although it's not necessarily daily news but rather weekly and investigative journalism. Politico.eu for europeans, deutschlandfunk, Tagesschau, lemmy, reddit

But as some people have hinted as well... Visiting news sites nowadays can only make you depressed really...

Serious question here: what is the bad ux experience of lemmy compared to reddit? (except choosing an instance in the beginning, I get that this might turn off a lot of people)

Getting children and realizing that privacy is important with all the data leaks, misuse of data, maybe not having their pictures and videos out there, trained on, misused. That's when degoogling started and with it quitting fb and Twitter and looking for alternatives. I am still lurking on LinkedIn and reddit though. But using foss redreader, reddit is actually still quite nice as a link aggregator and information source. And well , although LinkedIn has degraded so much over the last years, it somehow still seems to be a good source of information for everything job related.

But as this was my last straw, how do you see the future? Teenagers will still be teenagers and they will be urged to use anything that is popular due to peer pressure. When I am thinking of that, it will probably be an impossible undertaking to prevent them of using any of these platforms

Yes obviously you are American...

Is this /s or not I can't tell. Well they definitely benefit from drugs that you have to constantly take. For years. Until you die. That's their business model. If there could be a drug that cures you instantly, there is no effort to develop it by this company who sells you this constant supply of drug. So yes. Pharma has an interest in you staying sick enough to need treatment and not die.

Well some part of the world wanted this and did a lot to achieve this. But yeah, most don't deserve what's probably to come
