@[email protected] has offered an invitation to their discord server for the wider ani.social community. As well as light novels, it provides spaces to chat about anime, manga, games, and more.

They have also offered to create Dragon Ball specific channels if the need arises. I know some had asked about watching Dragon Ball together, and this could make that possible. I can try to set something up if enough interest is shown.

Glad to have you here! I always love hearing from people that have never seen it. The "humor" is absolutely a bit much. I don't know if it had anything to do with the time or culture, or if Toriyama was just a huge perv. I do my best to ignore it. By the time Z comes around it is as bad unless I blocked some shit out.

Speaking of Z, you may not like the pacing of it. It gets padded a LOT. There is Kai which addresses this issue a bit

I love Toriyama's world and his lack of care for the details. Sometimes he just retcons shit, seemingly with out reason. I don't love that part as much, but I love Super and how he just gave us a lot of fan service for the sake of it

Overall the Dragon Ball franchise is one of my favorite things in the world, and I am so happy to be able to share the enjoyment of it with all of you

I started the first Dragon Ball movie last night. I fell asleep before it was over, but it was pretty interesting. Brand new overarching story with a new big bad, but a lot of the same reused scenes and even dialogue. Worth checking out if you're bored, but the series was much better

Right on. I might give it a try at some point. I'm watching episode 1 for the third time or so. I keep being distracted through most of it

Hi, I'm Biskii. I'm a moderator for [email protected]. Yesterday everything was put in place to begin watching the original Dragon Ball from the beginning. We are taking it three episodes at a time, with discussion threads released every Sunday. Our first discussion thread is right over here

Huge shout outs to @[email protected] for the discussion thread bot, as well as working with me to add functionality to make all of this possible, and @[email protected] for all the promotion and legwork they do not only for [email protected] but the fediverse in general. I can't forget to shout out the community and everybody that has joined in the discussions for Daima, etc. so far.

We're going to get right into things and start watching the original Dragon Ball. Whether this is your first time, or you have seen it ten times, feel free to come discuss the episodes we are watching for the week.

Discussion threads will contain spoilers. Tags are not necessary. Anything about the episodes is fair game. The story, the art, the music, what ever you would like to talk about.

I don't think there is enough of a difference between the sub and dub to matter, so unless it becomes a problem, feel free to watch the version of your choosing. You are free to discuss the differences and your preferences, but this is not a place for arguing or attacking people for watching how they want to watch.

I am currently looking into having a bot create the threads every week, I just have to see if it will work the way I would like it to. Is there a preference as to what day the discussion thread is posted? At first I was thinking Friday like we had Daima, but Sunday would give us one full week and allow people the weekend to watch.

We will be starting with the first ~~two~~ three episodes of Dragon Ball. I will try to have the actual episode discussion thread up as soon as possible. If I haven't sorted the bot situation out in a timely manner, I will go ahead and create it.

If everything sounds good, I will see you in the discussion thread. If you have any suggestions, constructive criticism, or something related please leave it here.

With Daima coming to an end, there isn't much content related to Dragon Ball coming out. I don't want to let this community wither away, so I'd like some input about what you guys would be interested in

I'm not great at keeping up with gaming news, so I didn't even know they are releasing Daima DLC for Kakarot until someone told me recently. I will try to do better at staying aware of all things Dragon Ball so I can post it here

I personally enjoyed the Daima discussion threads, and feel a bit of a void now that it is over. Would anybody want to participate in a weekly episode starting with the beginning of Dragon Ball, or a weekly manga chapter also starting at the beginning?

If you guys ever make some Dragon Ball art, or pick up some sweet merch, please share with us. We are all here because of our love for Dragon Ball, and I want to enjoy these things with you

If you have any other ideas or input, please let me know here. I am all ears and open to any ideas. I want to grow this community, and I haven't been doing the best job recently, but I will need your help

Thank all of you for being a part of this, and I hope to make it bigger and better from here
