People talk of Imgur being a leftist echo chamber. I have had more than enough neoliberal types on there argue about the benefits of capitalism to me or that we shouldn't have worker solidarity. I feel when these events happen, it's part legitimately pissed of users but a lot of people just riding the up vote wagon.

I just gave up imgur myself for voicing an opinion of civil disobedience and then told why don't I go there myself with a gun and start shooting. Nuance seems to be dead everywhere.
I think the later is better because then you'd be a kid navigating AI bullshit including even more INTENSIVE bullying followed by navigating an AI filled market.

Most of them to be honest, not through their fault but the ever tightening squeeze of ABC Corp. on what is "acceptable" content and language. To the point some are giving up or deplatforming from Youtube to elsewhere. Stephanie Sterling if I had to say one but that's because they even acknowledged it's just the same thing over and over again. So they do less videos unless it's something particularly poignant.
I don't feel imposter syndrome as much. If anything has come out of this regime, if the most incompetent people you can think of gets to such positions of power and fuck up so horribly, you're fine in troubleshooting a printer.

Stepping down in tech myself. My next phone when this one gives out is going to be a dumb flip phone. No smart device appliances, the IoT is a bad idea. No thermostat the local municipality can control remotely. If I were to put in a video surveillance system it's be old coaxial cable cameras with a DVR.
Don't know if it was serious or not but someone did a calculation of Smaug's wealth and he's on the lower end of the billionaire class. Like single digits compared to Bezos, Musk, and Gates. A literal mountain of gold is less money than they have acquired.
For LGBT+ and PoC it's been a violent, fascist state against them for a long time. Just now it's affecting the white people to a point they're uncomfortable with but make no mistake, they'll just let it happen again in a few more years.
