The next gen is gonna be making fun of Gen Z by saying "formally Twitter" and Millennials are finally going to win.

Thanks! That's what I'm hoping for. My situation is that my income will be fine, just gotta figure out where to go. I like warm weather, Caribbean Latino Culture, beaches, mountains, communities, and having an airport to catch flights. I'm thinking a ruralish area in PR might be it. The Internet also says it has a pretty low cost of living.

This is a good starting point! Thank you very much

Good idea! Thanks for the info and suggestion.

Depends on the unit and whether it was over sized or under sized for the space, but restricting 60℅ air flow is a lot.

Thanks for your response! I appreciate it. Do you know how I can investigate this further? I would like to figure out if I'm over-stressing my unit because I've been doing that for the past ~2 years.

Another thing to consider is that if you later want to heat up the entire house, the unit has to work harder. Sometimes it can be more efficient to just keep the house close to your target temp.

Heating up the house happens so rarely that I can't remember the last time I did that. It may have been ~2 years.

I have been closing 3 out of 5. Is that too much?

That's a good point I wasn't aware of, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Another user recommended that I set the heater to run at a low temperature in case it gets too cold, but also to run the fan regularly so that the air moves about and addresses the humidity issue.

did you get the thing where you could hear your eyeballs moving?

OMG yessss!! But it wasn't like I could literally hear my eyeballs moving. I wasn't a sound. It was like a feeling in my ears as if moving my eyeballs would tickle or vibrate my inner ear.

I'm happy the stabbing didn't result in much worse. Glad you're still around 🙂

That sucksssss. I remember feeling the zaps for a few nights and feeling entirely disconnected from reality. I couldn't tell if I was awake or in a dream. I would close my eyes and fantasize about whatever I could to pretend I was somewhere else to ride it out. Then when at work during the day, I was pretending that I wasn't exhausted from severe lack of sleep. I would have to go to the bathroom to take breaks and recover a little and convince myself everything was okay. I even asked someone I got a long with to make sure I didn't look weird or did anything stupid.

Seems like the withdrawal hit you a lot harder than me, so I can't even imagine how difficult that was to endure.

Great suggestions! I will definitely do them. For now, I'm guessing that I'll prolly set the central heater at ~62*F. That will make sure it kicks on when it gets too cold and will also move the air about the house. Once I try this out, I can see if I'd like it to be set at a different temperature.

I kind of like it being cold because I can cuddle up under a heavy blanket or wear my wizard robe.

I agree that burning oil would be a terrible idea. In this case, the oil would be in an enclosed radiator that is designed to function as an indoor heater. Thanks for looking out tho!

Tell us it all. We want details, especially regarding the best parts. Paint the story so we can live it. Let's overwhelm brains with happiness and gratitude 🫠

I often use the word people to mean multiple persons. However, I've noticed that sometimes people will laugh/smirk when I use it. For example, one time I was talking about how my sister and her family/household travel often, saying, "Those people travel a lot," and the person repeated those people and gave a slight laugh. I'm wondering if I may be giving some sort of unintentional implied message when I use that word.

Does the word people mean anything other than multiple persons, such as a group of persons united by a common identity (family, experience, nationality, ethnicity, etc.)?

Meme: Two panels. Left panel is an Uno card that reads, "Understand situational context or draw 25." The right panel is labelled Me and has a drawing of the number 25 with the pencil placed underneath.

I guess it's another way of asking, "What event in your life had to most effective impact?"

I'm a fan of FOSS and reasonable privacy with data. I also often look for and install software on my computers for random tasks as they come up. Today, when I was looking to install an extension to Firefox called Wikipedia-EN that helps me search Wikipedia by highlighting a word, the Mozilla page for the extension states:

This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing.

As someone that is not educated in programming or perpetually current on tech news, what can I do to assess the safety of this and other software? Is there a site that transparently evaluates software and publishes its findings?
