I wonder how many of the new Truth Social accounts are bots and how many are MAGAs pleading with Trump to return their health care and SNAP benefits?

I ran into MAGA nutter for a while there in the summer. He kept changing his user name, but it was blatantly obvious it was the same person. He eventually got booted off the platform for good after the moderators yeeted enough of his sock puppets.

It's inevitable that a few will creep in, I suppose. Just keep flagging them.

😂🤣😆 I'm a 67 year old cancer survivor and ex bike racer who worked in a mostly male industry for decades. Keep playing tough, sweetheart. I've faced far harder opponents than you ever have behind your little keyboard.

Any chance the Marineland beluga whales could be shipped there?

[–] Amuletta@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They stood no realistic chance of getting in.

What was the alternative? I would have loved to vote NDP, and usually do in local elections, but they stood no chance. I wasn't so much voting for Carney as against Poilievre.

I doughn't know if I want a man who isn't well-bread. A rye sense of humour helps.

Dazzle camouflage is making a comeback, but for faces instead of ships. (It was used in WW1, before radar was invented.)

I feel for the Americans who didn't vote for this and really want to leave but don't have the option. Not every job is portable, unfortunately.

If tourism is a huge part of a local economy, that 30% may affect some places much more than others, though.

Company ski trips to Whitefish were a big thing back in the late 70s/early 80s in Calgary. Why, when Banff and Kananaskis were just a short drive away, was always kind of a mystery to me.

But then, Carl in engineering couldn't organize synchronized mooning in the hotel swimming pool. (They don't want you back, Carl, you can stay in Calgary.) I guess there was a "what happens in Whitefish stays in Whitefish" vibe. That's probably why the ski resort staff always seemed a bit grumpy and were never particularly friendly to us. Now they want us back? Ha ha!

It's pouring rain at the moment. I got a ride in early and beat it by about 30 minutes. Putting the lights on the bike was the right way to go.

I have finally given up on so many websites that refuse to believe I am human even after clicking the stupid box at least 6 times.

So many times I have given up on a business website because, after clicking on "prove that you are human" 5 or 6 times in the Cloudflare page and still being asked to click again, I have moved on to a competitor who doesn't put me through that nonsense.

This is the most bizarre thing I have ever read.

As of August 6. Not sure how I feel about the orange tiles.

Damn, I had planned a romantic weekend getaway there.
