As a European the Dems strike me as very pro capitalist neoliberals but definitely not as liberals. They get along with anyone if it's good for the economy. Freedom isn't something they actually value that much.
On one hand the German chancellor just met with Donald in Washington and assured he approves regime change so this comes off as a little two faced.
On the other hand Merz' party is trying to push for conscription and young Germans are already protesting against it on the streets. No way they're fighting for Donnie or Bibi. Plus the meeting in Washington was a fever dream. Tons of reporters asking random questions and the Orange just babbled about whatever came to mind for 90% of the time. I bet Merz was glad when it was over.
Also the Steam Deck can already take over that role if the Steam Machine is too much of an ask for you. When they're restocked, that is.
The idea is great because it didn't come from Microslop. It's going to be a Steam Machine competitor.
If you do FBI level criminal activity you better make sure not to give your credit card information to the E-Mail provider. I'm sorry but this one was easy to avoid.
No doubt there are bad actors polluting communities on the Fediverse as well and I'm not feeling quite as optimistic as the author here. But they're absolutely right about the corporate side of the internet. The mainstream that is controlled by the rich and driven by greed. You need FOSS to have at least a good base you can build on top of. Profit oriented platforms have failed us as a society.
