He's repacting debt that was being dragged since 2018. He's not taking new debt afaik.

When you as a person or country spend more than you can afford you end up owing someone. If that someone has more guns/laws/lawyers on their side you can end up in a very deep hole.

Argentina has been digging that hole since Perón basically.

This isn't like deficit in the US where the fed can just print more money and have the world's central bank reserves assume the cost of inflation. This also isn't EU deficit where loans are passrd around to everyone freely except greece and rumania (and don't get too cocky, portugal)

This is poor country deficit where money actually runs out and imports stop being possible. People can't buy cars, computers, coffee or anything most countries take for granted.

Someone had to radically cut spending in argentina sometime during the last 100 years and no one ever did it becauae they wouldn't win elections by suggesting this.

Now they have a crazy person with a chainsaw and superhero costumes cause that's how desperate people are. That is how fed up the majority of people are with their politicians and this is who they're willing to elect.

Madmen presidents are a symptom of deeply corrupt systems. They are what people resort to when in deep despair.
