I volunteer at the library, and a surprising amount of people. They try to apply for jobs using the Android version of Office, don't know what a file is, and then put "Computer skills" on their resume.

How many people around you don't own a computer and only use their phones for everything?

Seven.

I use a tablet, which is basically a phone with a large screen. Does that count?

Loads IME use phones or tablets for everything and only have a laptop for school or work. Seems they're slowly getting phased out for home use

I taught my current girlfriend to use a computer. She used to be rather frustrated every evening trying to do minor tasks on her phone for hours on end.

Also what the heck is up with the absolute garbage being sold as "flagship"

I’m kind of like that. Not quite a nomad, but similarly my life is a bit touch and go nowadays. I have a laptop sitting in storage that I haven’t pulled out in years. I’ll do some stuff on my work computer during work hours lol.

People owning phones and no computers is the norm here. It's reached the point that half my colleagues do BUSINESS on the phone only; their PCs rarely turned on.

Strap in: smartphones are computers!

I've just recently settled after a nomadic period, I spent almost 12 months on the road, using just my phone for the majority of the time. I ran a cloud server for all my hosted apps, movies, budget, cloud storage and such. Configuring that was a bit of a pain but with the right tools not too bad.

I did go to an internet cafe once, I had a lot of text entry/editing to do. Surprisingly hard to find.

I was staying with family for a bit without much to do, so I picked up an SSD and installed an OS on that. Got me some good idling time.

Somewhat related, I've got so much rollover data from my phone plan that now I'm settled, I've just been hotspotting from my phone for home internet.

My wife seldom uses a computer, preferring her phone, and im.not far behind. I use my phone for most things, but I use a desktop computer when im working on business stuff like graphic design, invoices, accounting, etc.

Not many. Some might use a phone more though. I kinda went big on my phone for awhile, but lately been appreciating my computer more. It's just easier to do certain things.

I only have the opposite observation, where everyone has a computer but not everyone has a phone.
