Automation and Factory Builder Games
A community surrounding automation and factory games. Think Factorio or Satisfactory.
Rules
- Please stay on-topic: post about automation and factory builder games. There is some wiggle room; there always is when it comes to game genres, but some things clearly do not fit (Pong, a post asking what car you should buy in real life) and will be removed.
- Don’t be a jerk. This covers bigotry and discrimination, which includes but is not limited to homophobia, racism, sexism, etc.
- Please don’t directly link to pirated content.
- When advertising something you have worked on (think your own automation game review website, or an automation game you have worked on), please use common sense for what is spammy. If there’s about four new posts here weekly, don’t post a progress update weekly—we don’t want self-promotion overwhelming the community. But finding new automation game creators is cool, so do post them here every once in awhile! I reserve the right to change this rule to be more specific about what exactly counts as spammy and what does not, but I feel I’ll know it when I see it and trust most posters to operate in good faith.
- Please indicate spoilers. The following format works on both Lemmy and Kbin, but if you are using an app it may not. See this comment for which apps handle spoilers. Note that spoilers in post bodies will just show the text in the preview if you link the post in, say, Discord, instead of spoiling it.

Not sure if golfy describes it, more like Bloons with mining
I was poking fun at the spelling being read as Mîndustry vs Mīne-dustry. (ie. minimum+industry)
Min as in minimum, I don't like it. Min-dustry.
I'm right there with you, despite the fact it changes nothing re: "min" being the vastly more acceptable abbreviation for "minimum" than it could be for "mining". 🤪
NGL, it does not "spark joy", as the celebrity host of Mindustry TV would say.
Opened this game in front of a friend the other day. They said "mine-dustry" and I said "min-dustry" and I find it amusing your comment encapsulated that.
Went looking online for how it is officially pronounced and found nothing, but I did find a wiki for it that is not hosted on Fandom! Rejoice! https://mindustrygame.github.io/wiki/
Love this game, looking forward to the update!
This reminds me I need to get back into it. Stopped playing because I am stuck on a level (don't remember the name) where you gotta get resources that are probably initially only accessible in a small holed off area past a wall, you need them in order to survive, and you need to build things to teleport/transport them through the wall.
I think it's the first level I know of to force you to have to do this. Absolutely HATE that level because no matter how many times I'd defend that area, I'd get absolutely screwed over because the enemies just decide they're gonna send a whole entire arsenal over to that one specific area and ruin everything.
Other than that, it's a fun game when you aren't spending over an hour building up your base only for the enemies to have built up so much defense that it's nearly impossible to ambush them. Worth the money on Steam for how much I have gotten out of it.
Edit:
Just installed on Steam Deck. It's Erekir's Peaks mission/tile/map/whatever! Absolutely HATE this level!
Blueprints to build like crazy, don't stop to fix alignments lol
I need to learn how to play this. I've had it on my phone for months but never put in the effort to figure it out.
I just started trying to play this, so thanks OP for posting and reminding me about it. Graphics are really nice! I appreciate that I can try for free on itch.io, if I like it I'll buy on Steam to support the devs and for convenience tbh.
