Somehow I don't think censoring this gentleman's eyes is going to prevent him from being recognised...

"Stealth" across the forehead. Is this one of those ironic tattoos?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

Like do the face tattoos make you "extra sneaky" at night or what?
If only there were less permanent options available...

It worked on me, I have no idea who he is.

This is work from the Brutal Black project, a piece of tattoo performance art / performative masochism. They produced some really fascinating art of very slightly dubious morality.

I had no idea my absent-minded scribbles in school books were actually fascinating art.

Suck it Mr White.

What a wild watch. I cannot comprehend extreme body modification but I find it fascinating. As for the brutal black project inflicting pain as a rite of passage? That's pretty standard human behavior, just turned up a good bit. Honestly getting brutal tattoos like that for free is a good deal if you're into it and can handle it. Again, don't understand insane coverage like that, but damn if it doesn't look good.

Another thing though, I cannot imagine the healing process for that shit. Friend got a decently sized forearm tat recently and was pretty fucking uncomfortable for a while. Getting absolutely blasted by needles on a huge swath of your body? I feel like getting the tattoo wouldn't even be the worst part.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

The worst part is the fucking wiping imo.

The needle hurts but wiping away the excess ink and goo feels like sandpaper on already sensitive skin after a while.

It’s the wooooorst

dubious morality.

Whatcha mean?

very slightly dubious morality

There's a subset of people who, whenever any extreme experience is brought to the cultural stage, insists that it must be the work of sadistic sociopaths and on that baseless grounds is clearly morally reprehensible. My own opinion is that, much like with the mob hatred for Russ McKamey, everyone involved is weird as fuck but they're also consenting adults and we should really just let people do their thing.

Naw. Fuck him. Dude has several allegations of ignoring safewords, and that's only after they even implemented safewords. Consent is where I draw a very important line.

I suppose I should have known better than to leave it at that.

Look I'm too tired to get into this properly tonight, but you're repeating the line that they didn't have safewords and that hints that you've only ever gotten your information secondhand about this. I really encourage you to actually look into it, Russ is a sadistic SOB but he doesn't deserve the vitriol that's directed towards him.

The chest and shoulder look great. The face? Not so much. There’s no cohesion of concept there. They have too much ink on their forehead, and it’s too faded.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Looks like the lines on the face, at least on the right side and not the forehead, are fake/paint. There's a line right in front of his ear that looks like wet paint that hadn't been smeared.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 6 days ago

the lines are an upgrade over the stuff under it IMO

[–] [email protected] 6 points 5 days ago

How did he tattoo his eyes red like that? This guy must be a badass

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Nah I'm too traditionalist to like this

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago

"What do your tattoos mean?"

Trauma.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago

He’s tricking even the most advanced nipple recognition technologies

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

I think it's cool.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 days ago

Nobody will even suspect that he's got tattoos now. Brilliant.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

When you can't afford tattoo removal.

Also, that one tat looks like a furry thing, it might not have been but the lines make it hard to make out and that's where my head went.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago

it's the head of a bat

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Imagine hating yourself so much that you just decided to scribble over your entire being.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

I would love a blackout with an inverse anarchy symbol but I am 100% sure that because it can't be a true blackout it would end up looking something like this stylised crap.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago

Does this count as linework? My understanding of linework is that it's lines that are done in one or two passes, usually with smaller needle counts. Not quite the same as fine line style, but similar? With large blocks like this, you can correct mistakes on the borders by expanding it outward.
