I know I probably shouldn't have but this Octopus was really curious and wanted to touch my fingers. Negombo, Sri Lanka

Very cool! I’m wondering what’s that smaller tentacle there? Dark brown with the spots

That is the tip of a tentacle. They all end in those tiny tips. It gives them a lot of dexterity.

I love to play with octopi. I just put my hand near them and wait, like you. Sometimes they are curious, sometimes they are not in mood. It allows me to know if I can stay or if I have to leave them alone and take my distance to observe them.
