That definition is still regular gaslighting isn't it? The person doing the gaslighting is convincing the victim that a certain set of circumstances existed in the past even though those circumstances never did.
The definition of gaslighting is a lie that's intended to make the other person question what they believe is true. This is the opposite of that, this one is a lie intended to make the other person believe what they already believe. In this case they already think you heard them, and you're lying so they don't question it
Wow I've always had trouble discerning speech from other sounds, especially in a loud environment.
