On Anime
While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.
This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.
On Technical Discussion
While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

They are no more insane than any other publicly traded company. Nothing matters apart from the next quarter's numbers.
Not even next quarter. If we can make number go up THIS quarter, then FUCK next quarter! Any long term issues caused, are next quarters problem to solve.
My company sold of a big chunk of land at two its campuses and are now renting land for overflow storage.
They may be looking at cashing out while they still own the characters - within a decade Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and Porky Pig will be public domain.
They'll become public domain in the same way as Mickey Mouse
So first appearing in crappy, low budget horror films?
Yeah, but just the original renditions of said characters
Some of them are the "prototypes" of the characters but films with the classic versions in are already public domain. Once the prototypes are PD then the classic characters are fair game too.
Or “zany to the max” as one might say.
How in the world do you make Looney Tunes unprofitable? If I had a gajillion billion dollars and the IP like WB does I'd hire a crack team just to make Looney Tunes year round. And we would bring back the imitable violent behavior tenfold.
Looney Tunes is just not so interesting anymore.
Yeah they got rid of all the imitable violence
if it was a "tax writeoff" then it should be public domain
I'm with you on that - "we" paid for it.
Welcome to Disney
Princess Bugs
no....... NOOOOOO
WHAT THE FUCK!?!??
I guess this is why they got removed from Max.
