To add on: I'm pretty sure, in the NHL, you can't slide a teammates stick back to them, except for the goal tender.

I believe there is an exception in the NHL rulebook for a player holding two sticks. Normally this is a penalty, unless you're holding the goalie stick for the express purpose of returning it to them.

Guys in my beer league were mistakenly yelling at refs last night. I quoted the rules at them to calm them down. They didn't calm down. I shared this just cause.
LOL If my teammates did that and they weren't my friends off the ice, I'd probably look for a new team.
I thought that seemed pretty common knowledge, but I guess not.
Haha. No, they're good guys, just occasionally dense when it comes to yelling at refs. I was once a ref myself, so know the rules better than most and have a soft spot for the refs that are doing their best :)
