I could have sworn some city builders or tycoons existed that dealt with politics (not as in a commentary on current real-life events, but as in dealing with reelection and

policies, by-laws, and subsidies

and the like). Wanted to find one but could not think of any off the top of my head. Then this post shows up the day afterwards!

There is CityState 1/2 with some political elements. While I enjoyed CityState 1 as a city-builder, I didn't find the political elements engaging or dynamic.

Hopefully it's a bit better implemented in Uber Urban (I am probably going to get a copy in a few weeks). :)

Hey, thanks for the rec, I am taking a look at it! The graphics definitely don't feel like 1 was made in 2018 and 2 in 2021, for better or for worse. So far I keep seeing in reviews that 2 is abandonware but 1 is fine. Both have warnings that they are for mature audiences. What did the dev put in there, cocaine and hookers? The reviews just talk about normal city builder stuff.

No cocaine or hookers, at least in any of my playthroughs in the first CityState (haven't tried the second one).

Not sure why they've added an age warning, it can be a bit less abstract in the negative realities of life, but then again, you could have horrible run-down neighbourhoods in all of the Simcities.
