Save you a click: Hair over 16 years with SS benefits, just under 13 without (JUST the million).

Cheapest place was West Virginia, taking almost 89 years to use up the million and benefits.

Most expensive is Hawaii, lasting just under 12.5 years with the million and benefits.

How much are Social Security benefits in California? Nationally, the maximum monthly Social Security payment for 2025 is $967 for an individual and $1,450 for a couple, according to the Social Security Administration website.

These numbers are for SSI, not Social Security. Completely different things. So their other numbers are suspect.
