Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
That's painful just to read it.
You're welcome! ☺️
I’m gonna need a ~~bigger~~ smaller mug
Yup... that should do it.
[holding my index finger up to let by boss know I'm not yet ready to let him speak as I violently smash my penis with the mug in my other hand]
(Mondays be like that)

Unhinged
correct! no hinge detecded.
This sounds like the type of thing that would bring physical pain and involuntary reactions
indeed it does sound like that
That dickhead deserves it
Where's the link to purchase?
If you send me a mug, I'll write it on with a permanent marker :)
Would need to see your handwriting and a video of you showing how to use the mug
Dorley?
I do not understand this meme. Is this directed at trans women? If yes, why would you want to smash your penis? Wouldn't it hurt really really bad?
the joke is that "smashed my penis flat with this mug" is an inherently funny thing to say, and it's even more absurd when it's printed on the mug in question
it's basically just minimal slapstick humor
Showed this to my straight cis and old boss. We both love this joke and think it would be a hilarious mug to encounter in the wild. Idk what's not to get. It's humorous because it wildly betrays the expectation of what one would expect to see on a mug by being absurd and vulgar.
Mix one into the show mugs at a coffee shop
You would expect something like "before I had my first coffee" because that's what people do with mugs: they drink coffee. But there are other things you can do with mugs too. Things you don't immediately think of but once it's pointed out to you, it's obvious and totally normal thing to do.
I think it’s directed at people that like silly vulgar jokes
Don't yuck my yum.
Omfg, I just realized that there are people out there living their lives without having the ability to brutally smash their penises with a cup ... ? How can they go on like that?
Life is so unfair.
You mean they can just put on pants without first having to brutally smash their penis flat with a coffee mug?
Fell down an internet rabbit hole, and ... dickless people might be real!! Some even claim as much as every other human out there.
I personally don't believe everything I read on the internet (fibre or mycelium), but there sure is a lot of evidence.
