I see lots of app recommendations, but is there any way to do this on desktop? I really don't want to have to click on each post, but I'm tired of getting the same stuff over and over again.

Voyager is available as a PWA

Is there an app that can do this?

Thunder too

[–] flightyhobler@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Found it! Thanks! 🙏🏼

Nice! Glad you found it :)

That's the one I'm using but I can't get the result I'm looking for... :(

I would love that ...going to try voyager.

What specific feature is this? Do you all mean how a post you’ve read is a darker color when you go back, or are there different scrolling gestures options? (Not the swiping ones)

Settings -> General > Posts section > Mark Read / Hiding Posts > Mark Read on Scroll

Brand new option I was unaware of. Thank you!

[–] webjukebox@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

Boost can do that.

mlem can do this.

[–] smeg@feddit.uk 2 points 10 months ago

I think Summit can do it too

[–] kratoz29@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

Summit, Voyager, Boost, Thunder, Eternity, Connect etc.

Actually this feature is a requirement to me (as well as a button/shortcut to hid said read posts) so if a Lemmy client does not have it I just won't use it (reason number 1 why I stopped using Sync for Lemmy, it has been broken for months now).

[–] muntedcrocodile@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

Eternity can do this.

This is a feature available on most apps for Lemmy I've tried.

[–] Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Boost for Lemmy does this.

[–] JayGray91@lemmy.zip 0 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Another option if you want: Sync for Lemmy.

[–] Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Sync is broken in this regard, it doesn't permanently hide posts anymore.

[–] JayGray91@lemmy.zip 1 points 10 months ago

My bad. Didn't know that. I have been using Thunder and Interstellar more than Sync.

[–] kratoz29@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

Only if you have a very old Lemmy instance.
