https://themunicheye.com/concerns-employee-sick-leave-policies-tesla-gruenheide-13226

Tesla withheld wages from sick workers, visiting them at home unannounced, and demanding that they lift patient confidentiality and hand over their doctor's diagnosis, or quit.
Tesla workers in Germany require legal aid from their union 21x more often than the average union worker.

More importantly, what are you still doing there?

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 year ago

Sure, they should just quit and strap on their job helmet and squeeze down into a job cannon and fire off into jobland where jobs grow on jobbies.

I'm sure all of the Tesla employees are looking for new gigs, but it's going to take a while. And someone without a job facing homelessness and starvation will be willing to take their place.

People need to eat? It's not rocket science.

More likely that they want Tesla on their CV, and not something ordinary like Volvo.

People used to do the same thing for SpaceX. The advice engineers were giving each other was go work there for a couple of years then get out before they burn you out.

They pay slightly more than minimum wage and haven't fired them yet. I used to work at the plant in Fremont; nobody I worked with directly was really there by any real choice other than "I need money and they hired my ass."

But I mean... That's the case with pretty much every job I had except for Relay.

Native speakers, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's either "how is it", or "what is it like", but not "how is it like".

No offense to OP!

[–] grue@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

"How is it like" is slightly awkward, but not necessarily wrong.

Sounds better indeed, edited

Is English not your mother tongue? If so I genuinely surprised 😮

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 year ago (3 children)

It's not, and I don't think my English is that good for a non native 😅

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Honestly mate if it was bad I'd say. I'd never have known. What's your first language?

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thanks! I prefer not to disclose, everything stays public on the Fediverse 😄

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Let me guess... you're Klingon?

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago

More like Sindarin 🧝

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Your English is better than some of the people i graduated highschool with, and they're monolingual

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No worries, just a plain fact.

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Count me as also surprised.

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Funny, I thought you knew!

If I did, I forgot :)

Some people don't think it be like it is, but it do.
