facts are increasingly irrelevant. allegiances to lies are far more powerful today. and blind belief in lies is perhaps the most dangerous and powerful mechanism of totalitarian control.

Hitler, in accusing Jewish people of lying, outed himself instead and laid out what would become his lifelong political strategy; ie, pretending to be leftist populist, while making deals with right wing capitalist, in order to gain power.

... thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to largescale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Listen to what the madmen on the world stage are saying. Take them by their word. More often than not, they themselves laid it all out plain as day.

TRUMP ignoring my Burning Backyard is JOE BIDENS FAULT!

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago

sorry. the directions to your backyard was in hillary's emails somewhere on hunter's laptop that got lost at a d.c. pizza joint.

There will definitely be many who say “it’s not the president’s job to handle local wildfires” after having bitched about Joe Biden not having fixed their potholes.

There will definitely be many who say “it’s not the president’s job to handle local wildfires”

But it is FEMA's job to be part of that disaster response, and the fucking president and his bitch killed their ability to do their job.

That is correct. Correct does not matter, here, only excuses.

WHY DID DEMOCRAT LEAVE LEAVES?! 🤬🔥🍁🍂

Their fancy clothes are probably all burnt by now, but it's their own fault, they just shouldn't have attacked the wilderness.

I mean that dude is currently setting the world on fire so why should he do something against existing fires?

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

Yeah, in fact right now he is demanding 20 Billion in climate change funds to be seized from Citibank tasked with distribution, forcing DOJ and FBI to start an investigation despite Judge saying they first have to provide evidence of crime or wrongdoing; which they have not. Another career federal prosecutor resigned over it.

Because he complained endlessly (and nonsensically) about the LA fires and after being elected "turned the faucets back on." In other words: dumped a shitload of water miles away in the central valley during the wet season, nearly destroying the levies. This water will not be available to farmers in the dry season.

They probably didn't vote hard enough.

The final fucking over of the populace has begun.

In 2017 he didn't have all his ducks in a row. Now he has.

I wonder if we'll ever find out how much money he got out of all this. Maybe in a hundred years.

PS: there's a new wave of wildfires in N/S Carolina this time?

Trump needs more landscapers to rake the leaves.

[–] surph_ninja@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

If you still think this is a GOP vs Dems thing, you still don’t get it.

Capitalism cannot reign itself in. Capitalists cannot stop climate change. Stop expecting the people profiting from this to put a stop to it.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

I don't get it.

Trump didn't start the fire. It was clearly Joe Biden.
