As far as "mainstream" broadcasters NPR/PBS are about as good as you're going to get in the US. Unfortunately, they also tend to repeat narratives and in my opinion don't go after those making bad faith arguments hard enough.

MODERATORS
PBS and NPR are both solid. Being public broadcasting, they're often not funded super well, so it's usually a slower trickle of content.
As an American, I rely on both NPR and PBS for my news. Far as I see it, others are entertainment.
PBS is about all I can stand. no commercials. expect something bad will happen to it. There is always the off channel.
