For real though, what is the point in a space above a cabinet like that except to collect dust (and cats apparently)?
I wondered what the previous owner had in mind too when we moved in a few years back. We thought about stuffing a fake plant or fern type of thing up there, but it just seems like too much trouble.
It's a perfect cat perch, don't change it. Warm and high with a commanding view of food preparation.
