I think I remember when they wanted to use lasers to clean the windshield.
“A cleaning system for a vehicle includes a beam optics assembly that emits a laser beam to irradiate a region on a glass article of the vehicle, debris detection circuitry that detects debris accumulated over the region, and control circuitry. Imagine it erroneously registering a minor crack caused by a piece of gravel, then relentlessly pulsing at it again and again, and the laser reflects several places including the direction of your fucking face, and it just won't stop.

Pretty sure they only come from the factory in the unfinished stainless steel; but I've seen plenty that are wrapped or painted. Shit, I saw one the other day that was anodized (or at least had that look) the most disgusting green I've ever seen.
