Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 101 points 1 year ago

What, not hungry for cold mcdonalds?

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 92 points 1 year ago (1 children)

For this reason I’m glad they won.

[–] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You sound like a fan of another team in the nfc east

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh no. I’m also glad they won because fuck the Chiefs. So there are 2 reasons.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Fuck the chiefs indeed

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I'm with OhStopYellingAtMe and I'm an NFC South boy. I don't think the Eagles are as reviled as the Chiefs or Cowboys, but that stock has been climbing for decades

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 77 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As a cowboys fan, first off, fuck the Eagles.

As a human being, fuck yeah, go Eagles.

[–] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As a Jets fan, fuck my team, fuck ~~America's team~~ the cowboys, and sure whatever go birds

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Oh under my breath I'm always saying fuck the cowboys. I grew up in the early 90s and the Aikmen, Smith, Irvin era and got spoiled. Now I just get to hear every year is our year and secretly put a paper bag over my head as I watch as each season goes to shit.

I don't give a shit about football, and Philadelphia is one of my least favorite cities, but I am now an Eagles fan.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"and Philadelphia is one of my least favorite cities"

..and I took that personally.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey at least they're not Detroit.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 3 points 1 year ago

They will always have "South" Detroit.

[–] movies@lemmy.world 55 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I love Megyn Kelly’s all caps vitriol beside the admission that she barely cares about football. What a life. The smoke signal goes up and you jump online to shit-stir—transparently so.

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

She’s just lack-of-virtue signaling

[–] wjrii@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

She's got to course-correct after having the unmitigated gall(!) to suggest women might want to consider having their finances and careers in order before getting married and having kids.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 48 points 1 year ago

Wait, a team largely made up of black and brown men didn’t want to visit the old racist guy?

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I hate myself a little for typing this, but, Fly Eagles, Fly!

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

???

Could you explain the problem with saying that/Why say that

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Guessing they're a Cowboys fan.

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

barf no, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, BABY!

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The good ol' Tampa Bay Yucks!

(cries in Dolphin)

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

If it's any consolation my Florida breh, Mike McDaniel is my favorite coach in the whole league, and it ain't even close

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Oh, team rivalry thing

[–] AllHailTheSheep@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 year ago
[–] duckCityComplex@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

Gonna miss out on those sweet hamberders

[–] lance20000@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 year ago

Been a rough week for the White House when it comes to sports. Little victories should be celebrated.

[–] DeadWorld@lemm.ee 17 points 1 year ago

Fucking go Birds. Best team in football!

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago
[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When I saw Josh Hawley was rooting for the Chiefs I became a lifelong Eagles fan. This just makes me happier about my lifelong fandom.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He is a senator of Missouri so it makes the most sense for him to be a fan.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 1 points 1 year ago

I'm from Kansas City. Josh Hawley doesn't even live in the state. Uses his sisters address for running for senator.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Good for the Eagles.

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The *Whitey house

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I'm starting to think those people in the White House are Not Like Us ...

[–] formergijoe@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

They can buy McDonald's whenever they want.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How embarrassing it must be to be a journalist who quotes "social media users" in their article.

[–] CMonster@discuss.online 1 points 1 year ago

If everyone is a journalist no one is a journalist.
