It's a long story, but I need the aluminum trim replaced around a garage door. Just basic white aluminum trim.

I don't want to do it myself...but I have no idea what kind of contractor I even need to call to do it. What kind of contractor would I call to do this? I'm in Maryland, US.

Google searches either lead me to garage door replacement or siding replacement, neither of which is what I'm actually looking for.

Is there a site where I can post a picture of the project and dimensions and get contractors to bid on it, or at least express interest on it? Angi (formerly Angie's List) seems to require me to figure out what kind of contractor I need, and this doesn't fall into the usual categories.

Thanks!

Is it the trim that goes inside of the garage doors frame? About 8 or so inches wide? If so you're probably looking at either prevent alhminum fascia or aluminum trim coil. Most any general contractor should be able to replace it. The prebent stuff is easy peasy, the rolls of trim coil take a little more care but its still not that big of a challenge.

This is exactly the kind of work I do for living. Not garage door trim but "where do I even call and ask" type of work. Unfortunelately I don't live in the US.

I can give you one tip however: aluminium can be cut with woodworking tools so if you have a mitre saw and a drill you could probably buy, cut and install the trim yourself.

Yeah I even have electric metal shears that would make quick work of it... I just don't want to do it. :)

Check out people who do seamless gutter installation most of them can deal with this too.

can you share some photos, I did not get it (do not have garage, but worked with shutters of shops), My guess without anything else would be people who generally install this stuff would also do repairs.

Yeah I'll get one. It's just trim around the opening. Most exterior doors have something similar.
