Make F1 European again

This is complete bullshit. I would love all the drivers to go full protest, say fuck in the first press event and all get suspended for a month.

[โ€“] espentan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

That would've been beautiful - drivers essentially canceling the first few races.

[โ€“] Aarrodri@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

Fuck the fia ..fuck this stupid rules. Fuck whoever came up with this stupid fucking bullshit.

Didn't take long for the Americans to send F1 in the shitter

[โ€“] GreatRam@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

FOM is American. This is FIA.

This the FIA Presidents private moral war

The President is Saudi though.

[โ€“] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

He's actually from the UAE. But he does kiss the arse of Saudi Arabia on an almost daily basis.

[โ€“] m8052@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Fia has its HQ in france, but it more international than anything. Hq has to be somewhere after all.

[โ€“] Damage@feddit.it 2 points 1 year ago

Weird that this only started happening recently...

[โ€“] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Something tells me these changes aren't due to French influence lol

So you can't say Hallelujah, amen, inshallah (donnt know how to write it), you probably can't say anything remotely feminist (like women should be allowed to drive), can't say anything about going in countries at war, even if it is against FIA regulation (such as Saudi Arabia with Yemen). Same as saying that lgbtq+ people should not be killed or jailed (for the USA, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, China, maybe Italy and Japan for a beginning)... Edit : just to add something, technically, a four time world champion is forbid access to Baku because Azerbaidjan hates Armenian People but Prost is part Armenian. Thanks FIA

I can see the drivers doing a swearing consortium.... If one driver gets a fine, all of the other drivers swear once in their next press conference

[โ€“] misterzero@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

I see many a driver just doing a Kimi Raikkonen and responding in monosyllables. No more color in their interviews.

I hope many more will comply maliciously and say something like: "I can't voice my opinions because of the new regulations. Please talk with my representative".

[โ€“] mannycalavera@feddit.uk 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Isn't 12.2.1 n a criminal offence anyway?

[โ€“] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Yeah but now the criminal has to pay FIA as well. Who says crime doesnโ€™t pay huh

[โ€“] florge@feddit.uk 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What do they mean by a suspension here? From driving, from giving interviews?

[โ€“] Microw@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago
[โ€“] vane@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

FIA bans Christmas.

A public apology? To a public who absolutely does not care? Lol. Stoopid FIA, I guess these kinds of rules are the only ones they can figure out since they can't consistently handle the actual races, bunch of pencil pushers.

[โ€“] th_in_gs@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

1-month suspension - which is suspended

What does this mean?

[โ€“] hypnotoad__@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

It means "we will choose to unsuspend the suspension if we really don't like you in particular"

[โ€“] Aurix@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I hope a driver makes the public statement "Women are allowed to drive", then slams 10 000โ‚ฌ on the table, and excuses for stating something which doesn't align with FIA's neutrality rules.
