Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

For a second I was wondering how on earth race science got funded by torpedoing a network of tech billionaire.

@bitofhope @dgerard is that like torpedoing the submarine with the billionaires in it?

those self-crush, it's apparently a feature not a bug

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

The bug is that it's hard too put billionaires in the self-crushing submarine, that difficulty needs to be nerfed

Between October and November last year, Frost and Ahrens were filmed pitching plans for what they called a “gentlemen’s club”, with members paying for networking and training courses. While the plan now appears to have been abandoned, Ahrens seemed to suggest that recruits could be transformed into an elite group modelled on the SS

hmm where did I see something like this before. it's on the tip of my tongue...

Later, he boasted of spending the next year “travelling around from major city to major city, just setting up these cells”

Iirc a few mass shooter manifestos also claim this sort of behaviour. So without more facts backing this up it might just be fight club cosplaying. (And yes setting up these kinds of paramilitary fight clubs is very fascist (and quite cringe and weird with the hitting each other, just go to a metal/punk mosh pit))
