They are removing them for the same reason they introduced them in the first place. Don't think they honestly believe either way, they just bend with the wind in politics.

Too lazy to bother with proper research, but considering how big these companies are, asking your favorite LLM How many people work at Meta and Amazon combined? will yield about 1.5M people (+/- the usual yearly thousands of layofss/new hires).

that's just amazon. meta is tiny in comparison, with 75k people.
