Edit: Just to clarify, my stance here is not "ignore everything Trump." He has done and will do quite a lot of things that warrant attention and concern. He's also a serial liar and world class bullshitter. A human testament to the phrase, "actions speak louder than words." Donald Trump's political success has always hinged on the fact that people are quick to forget that. He's already working overtime to distract from the fact that the majority of his campaign promises were just lies and the sooner he can make the people who voted for him forget all the pie in the sky shit they were promised, the better.

Nah, I want him crazier and crazier. I want him to figure out how to act so batshit crazy that his own base keeps having to question themselves.

I don't think it'll happen, but I'll LOVE asking them to explain it away.

His base has long proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are immune to reflection, introspection, common decency and feelings of shame.

Too late for that. Now its more about keeping track of madman with weapon. Not that i want to read anything involving the piss hitler though, it would be much better if there just was nothing pay attention to.

Strap in, with him actually in the White House it's going to get a lot worse.

The guy is never going to run out of dead cats to grab headlines and avert attention from more important things.

The orange guy is the Kool-Aid Man of Overton's windows.

I completely agree but it's a little hard for me to know exactly where to draw the line though. It's less hard for assholes profiting from his bile. They can print everything he says (and print money from that) and also stand on the flimsy argument that everything he says is newsworthy.

My kingdom for ublock filter lines to remove posts with titles including "Trump" or "Musk"

Edit 2 days later: "Yourinstanceaddress - quotes"##.post-listing:has-text(Trump)

ie: biglemmowski.win##.post-listing:has-text(Musk)

That was the path before the election. A lot of clickbait headlines linking to his platform that exposed his "alternate facts basis" for evil. Now the attitude won't make him go away anymore.

If we waited for Trump to say something intelligent, we’d never heard from him again. Hmm…

I just wish social media wasn't focused on so much, when it comes to politicians and other high figures.

They should be posting statements of value on official websites and the like, yet instead a blimmin' tweet is the highlight of discussion time and time again. Why should I care? I'm not here to be friends with them.

I don't remember where I heard this, but it's stuck with me "Liberals take Trump literally and have never taken him seriously."

We had a brief respite from 2021 to 2022

Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing right now? The lack of self awareness is astounding.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

Well, no, not the same thing. This is a meta critique.
