I just left the highlands a few days ago and miss it dearly. Was drinking brewdog cans but my mum hates the stuff 😂

Double birthdays this weekend, both wanting BBQs, so all the meat for me. Knackered with the first week back to school. A show I saw earlier this week mentioned Violet Jacob, and her poems "Songs of Angus" are written in scots https://archive.org/details/songsofangus0000viol/page/21/mode/1up - and great find anyway and worthy of sharing - The Lost Licht a great read

Can I highjack the thread to ask how long you took to climb Ben Nevis, and how long it took you to get down again?
I took 6 up, 3.5 down - about the slowest on the mountain. And I blame my Dad, I could have shaved at least an hour or maybe 2 off. It was melting, I drank so much water, and my legs were feeling it bad for about 4 days. A good time is about 6 hours

A wee surprise wedding!! We booked it 10 weeks ago and invited a small group of mainly family and some friends. We just went to the registry office on Wednesday then to a restaurant we like, where we had 3 courses and drinks, then cake!!
We went to Portpatrick on Thursday for an overnight. We walked, watched the seals and ate too much!! Spent the day there today and then came up the road.
Everything has been really relaxed and chilled and we have loved it!
