I haven't used Windows since whenever the hell Win7 came out, so I haven't had to deal with IE for so long for any reason that the trauma's all gone

Was that even a thing in Win7 yet? I only used 7 to play EVE, really, but otherwise I'd been daily-driving Linux since Vista days (which are further in the past than I'd really like to think)
Super ironically it was the main reason people hated Vista. 7 was an improvement but still cancer for anyone familiar with system permissions on any other system.
Honestly can't remember much of anything about Vista either except some vague annoyance. I did use it more than 7 but not all that much more, I'd been too ruined by Linux
It's kind of ironically behind the times anyway since Edge became default and went Chromium.

The real delayed reaction is how old this meme is.
IE11 was a gigantic improvement over previous iterations. It wasn't anywhere near Firefox or Chrome, mostly because of their respective extension ecosystems. I don't remember it being especially slow though.
