I'm always impressed by people who can receive a rude throwaway comment and share an empathetic intelligent response that not only connects the original poster but every person who reads it.

It's like commenting on the weather. We don't have weather in common online, but some of us have watched the same shows or seen the same jokes. Like cats slow blinking, we're saying we exist, together, and don't intend harm. Or only gentle harm like when a certain song gets linked.
