What was the original one trying to go for? I get this joke, I just don't know what salt water and goats have to do with horror.
Goats like salt. The idea is that the goat will lick their salty legs, and won't stop until the skin is wearing away.
Oh. I thought they were going to be electrocuted and didn't realize it. I was confused by the sportsperson. Thank you for explaining.

I got it after reading the explanation, just before that I wasn't sure how he fit into my theory about the joke.

Goats have sandpaper-like tongues and like salt so the original horror is that the torture would be skin removal via goat.
The acronym GOAT stands for Greatest Of All Time so the reply posted a picture of LeBron James, implying that he would be the one doing the licking torture.
